  • This 5S Audit Checklist is a structured tool for assessing and improving the workplace's organization and efficiency. The "5S" in its name stands for Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain, representing the set of principles aimed at creating a clean, organized, highly productive, and safe workspace. 1. SORT

  • Unnecessary items have been removed from the workspace

  • Only essential tools, equipment and materials are present

  • Items not in use are properly stored or discarded

2. SET IN ORDER

  • All tools and materials are organized and labeled

  • Frequently used items are easily accessible

  • A designated location exists for every item, and it’s in its place

3. SHINE

  • The workspace is clean and free of dust, dirt and debris

  • Desks and equipment are wiped down and in good condition

  • Cleaning tools are stored in designated locations after use

4. STANDARDIZE

  • Workstation standards (labels, color coding, layouts) are consistently applied

  • Checklists or guidelines are visibly posted and followed

  • Employees know their responsibilities for maintaining order and cleanliness

5. SUSTAIN

  • Daily 5S reviews are conducted and recorded with team members

  • Continuous improvement suggestions are encouraged and noted

  • Employees demonstrate commitment to 5S principles
