Information

  • A weekly plant inspection of the refrigeration system is to be carried out by the site supervisor/ Manager (Yes = Checked OK, No = Fault) All critical/ Urgent issues must be reported immediately to the project manager. Add notes and photos to each section where there are issues found

Refrigeration Systems

  • Anchor/fixing size(s) correct<br><br>

  • Support type and size correct –saddles, brackets or straps (rubber or plastic)<br>

  • Support spacing correct <br><br>Frequency of supports as recommended by BS4434 is as follows:<br><br> up to 22mm 1m spacing<br><br> 28mm to 54mm 2m spacing<br>

  • Pipework routing as per drawing and installed so as not to sustain damage<br>

  • Pipework size correct <br><br>

  • Pipework materials correct – Only copper tubing used (BS2872 Part 2, Table 2)<br><br>

  • Pipe bends are circular in section and smooth in bore, pulled bends are preferred<br>

  • All pipelines installed with minimum number of joints<br><br>

  • Brazing or silver solder used for jointing pipelines <br>Brazing for copper to copper, silver solder for copper to brass or steel<br><br>

  • Insulation if provided on suction pipelines to minimise condensation – insulation to comply with BS476 Part 7 Class O

  • The identification of pipework is in accordance with BS1710<br><br>

  • Any condensate drains to cooling coils are correctly fitted and laid to falls<br><br>

  • Leakage pressure test satisfactorily carried out (Specialist Sub Contractor)<br><br>

  • Evacuation pressure test satisfactorily carried out (Specialist Sub Contractor)<br><br>

  • System satisfactorily charged with refrigerant (Specialist Sub Contractor)<br>

  • All bracketry suitably treated with anti corrosion paint on cut ends<br>

  • Any further comments
