RGW Construction Basic Site Inspection Checklist

1. Walkways, Work Platforms-Walkways clear of debris, hazardous conditions

2. Ladder Condition/Setup-Ladders in Serviceable Condition; Job Built Ladders Properly Constructed; Ladders in Trenches Available at Not More Than 25' of Lateral Travel; Ladder Rails Extend 3' Above Landing

3. Housekeeping-Trash Cans Available; Trash Piles, Scrap Materials Properly Stored/Located

4. Standard Guardrails-Properly Installed (42"-45" Top Rail, Mid-Rail Half The Distance To Top Rail)

5. Site Illumination-Adequate Lighting Available i.e. Light Towers, Portable Lighting, Flagger Stations, etc.

6. Personal Protective Equipment-Basic PPE, Safety Eye Wear, Hard Hat, ClassII Hi Visibility Clothing; Special PPE for Job Specific Activities Including Respiratory, Protective Toe Caps, Welding, etc.

7. Cranes, Crane Rigging-Daily Crane Inspection, Rigging Inspection, All Rigging In Serviceable Condition or Tagged Out Of Service, Rigging Hardware

8. Trenches, Excavations; Properly Benched, Sloped, Shored; Trenches, Shoring Systems Inspected By Competent Person Prior To Entry By Personnel

9. Fall Protection Equipment; Harnesses, Attachments in Serviceable Condition; Proper Anchor Points

10. Mobile Machinery, Heavy Equipment; Daily Inspections, Safety Equipment

11. Power Tool Condition; Electrical Cords, Safety Attachments

12. Electrical Conditions; Extension Cords, Junction Boxes, Cords Protected From Vehicular Traffic, Generator GFCI's (Ground Fault Circuit Interruptors)

13. Pneumatic Tools; Hoses, Connections Properly Pinned And Whip-Checked, Safety Devices in Serviceable Condition

14. Project/Site Traffic Plan

15. First-Aid Supplies Available

16. Fire Hazards/Equipment; Fire Suppression Equipment Located Near Hot Work, Extinguishers Have Current Inspection Tags, Equipment In Serviceable Condition

17. Impalement Hazards; Rebar, Other Impalement Hazard Protection As Required, Nails Bent Or Removed

18. Scaffolds; Properly Constructed, Inspected Daily, Scaffold Grade Planks Min. 20" Wide Walkway, Standard Guardrails Properly Installed

19. Material Handling/Rigging Practices, Qualified Riggers/Signal Persons

20. Material Storage; Materials Properly Stacked/Banded (as needed), Chemical Storage

21. Work Area Access; Safe Access To All Work Areas, Ramps, etc.

22. Water, Access To Shade; Sufficient Water In Approved Containers, Shade Available

23. Toilet facilities available. Wash stations located separate from or located outside of toilet facility. I toilet for every 20 employees or fraction thereof. Separate toilet for female employees with exception; If there are less than 5 employees at the site.
