Caulking/Membrane QC

  • Have all joints been welded, skimmed, prepped for caulk and checked by Wells foreman?

  • Are joints dry and bonding agents fully cured (72 HRS or manuf. min)?

  • Have all penetrating or waterproof sealers been kept out of caulk joints (vertical and horizontal)

  • Have all joints been wire brushed/ground/chipped to expose and roughen caulking surface?<br><br>Has slurry/slag been removed from deck/exposed plank?<br><br>Has area been brushed, washed or swept?

  • Has correct size backer rod been installed to adequate depth?

  • Are joints of uniform width from end to end and within tolerance(s)?<br>Double Tee - 7/8" +/- 1/8"<br>Panel/Spandrel - 5/8" +/- 1/8"

  • Are panels flush or offset by less than 1/4" between panels AND 1/4" in 10' / 3/8" in 100' MAX

  • Are tooled concrete joints uniform and clean?

  • Drain blockouts are fully formed, cured and caulked prior to membrane placement?

  • Caulking has been installed in a uniform manner, joints are tooled and protected after installation?

  • Has area to receive membrane received shot blasting preparation or bonding agent?<br><br>Has installer brushed off surface with air gun prior to application?

  • Stop caulkers from scope of work and notify Wells foreman
