  • All chemicals brought onto site, including all hazardous substances and dangerous goods, MUST have a current Safety Data Sheet available for review at all times. The SDS must be reviewed before the commencement of any task that is undertaken that involves the use of the substance.

  • Any SDS that can NOT be answered yes to the following five questions must not be used and must be replaced with an updated SDS, or the substance must be replaced with one that does have a compliant SDS

  • 1. IS the SDS written in English?

  • 2. Does the SDS contain 16 separate headings?

  • 3. Does the SDS state the name, address and business telephone number of the Austrailian impoeter or manufacturer?

  • 4. Does the SDS give an Australian business telephone number from which further information about the chemical can be obtained in an emergency?<br>Note: this number must be available at all times (24/7)

  • 5. Was the SDS prepared within the last five years

  • 6. Is the chemical stored correctly in accordance with the SDS?

  • 7. Is the chemical storage in the original container/bag/drum with the label and storage container in good condition?

  • 8. Does the contractor has the required PPE available as per SDS?

  • 9. Is there up to date Hazardous register?
