Section I: BEFORE ENTERING THE TRAILER

  • Are wheel chocks available and in good condition?

  • Is at least one wheel chocked?

  • Does the restrain system secure the trailer?

  • Is the fault validated by a supervisor and safety representative?

  • Are two wheels chocked?

  • Is the dock green light signal on and working properly?

  • Is the dock trailer light working properly and sufficiently?

  • Is the control panel working properly?

  • Is the air brake lock installed and the key secured by SE employee?

  • Is the truck turned off?

  • Are truck keys secured by SE employees?

  • Is the trailer greater than 48 ft. in length?

  • Are trailer jack stands in place?

  • Is the trailer is free of cracks, breaks, and other signs of weakness?

  • Is the trailer safe to enter?

Section II: TRAILER READY FOR PICK UP

  • Is the dock door closed and secured (no access to the trailer)?

  • The bridge/trailer restrain system is disengaged.

  • Is the signal light red and working properly?

  • Are all safety controls removed from the trailer (e.g. chocks, jack stands, air brake locks)?

  • The safety controls are returned to the proper location.

  • Is it safe to move the trailer?

  • Truck driver has been notified that he/she may move their trailer.

If "NO" is answered to any question, STOP WORK and contact Supervisor and Safety for review.
