Streetworks

  • - Streetworks sites MUST have a qualified supervisor appointed to oversee the works
    - Operatives MUST be on site at all times during work activities
    - The supervisor does not need to be on site at all times but MUST be able to suitably and
    sufficiently carry out those duties
    - One person cannot cover the duties of operative and supervisor at the same time
    - Operatives and Supervisors MUST hold valid and in date Streetworks Cards and have
    them accessible on site at all times
    - Anyone acting as a supervisor or operative MUST hold the relevant streetworks units and
    can only perform the activities to which they are fully qualified (as detailed below):

  • Is the MEWP correctly positioned and being operated in accordance with RAMS / plans?

Scaffolding

  • Has scaffolding been erected, altered or dismantled by operatives with valid and in date training? (EG CISRS)

  • Is there evidence of scaffolding inspection by a competent person?<br>(EG once erected, modified and not exceeding every 7 days)

  • Has scaffolding been setup correctly?

Excavations and Buried Services

  • Are utility plans available on site?

Lifting Operations

  • Does the Appointed Person (AP) or Lift Supervisor (LS) hold valid and in date training? (EG CPCS)

  • Does the crane operator have valid and in date training? (EG CPCS)

  • Do all slingers / signallers have valid and in date training? (EG CPCS)

  • Is there a Lift Plan available on site for lifting operations, including specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement?

  • Does the Lift Plan detail the correct lifting equipment and does the documentation match the equipment on site?

  • Does the crane have evidence of thorough inspection that is valid and in date?

  • Do all lifting accessories (EG slings, chains etc.) have evidence of thorough inspection that is valid and in date?

  • Is the crane and equipment positioned correctly and being used in accordance with the Lift Plan / RAMS?

Electrical

  • Do all electrical engineers have valid and in date training? (EG 18th Edition, ECS card?)

  • Has the site been isolated and locked off correctly?

  • Do all required tools (EG multitesters, earth testers etc.) have a valid and in date certificate of calibration?

  • Are insulated tools in use in accordance with IEC 60900 and EN-0900?

Hazardous Substances

  • Do all individuals using hazardous substances have valid and in date COSHH training?

  • Is there a COSHH pack (EG COSHH Assessment and Material Safety Data Sheet) in place for all hazardous substances being used on site?

  • Are the safety measures as detailed in the COSHH pack being adhered to on site?

Plant Vehicles

  • Do plant vehicle operators have valid and in date training? (EG CPCS)

  • Do plant vehicles have evidence of thorough examination / inspection by a competent person?

Asbestos

  • Do all individuals on site have valid and in date Asbestos Awareness training?

  • Has the Asbestos Register / Management Plan been reviewed and communicated?

  • Has the asbestos hazard potential been managed adequately?

Environment

  • If waste is being produced on site, is it being segregated and stored effectively?

  • If waste has been collected, has a Waste Transfer Note been provided?

Tools and Equipment

  • Are all hand / power tools in use fit for purpose and in suitable condition?

  • Do all required tools / equipment have evidence of servicing and maintenance?

  • Do all required electrical items have evidence of valid and in date PAT testing?<br>(EG chargers, extensions, transformers, power tools etc.)

Manual / Mechanical Lifting
