Role models, reinforces and implements healthy eating and nutrition practice during mealtimes

Checks that children have ready access to water and are offered healthy food and drinks regularly throughout the day

Assists Qualified Educators to administer medication

Checks written authorisation form to administer medication

Checks written authorisation form to administer medications from parent/guardian

Checks medication does not exceed use by date, is supplied in original packaging and displays the child's name

Stores medication appropriately

Respects children's needs for privacy during toileting and dressing/undressing

Ensures children's families individual clothing needs and preferences are met

Implements service's health and hygiene policies and procedures consistently and discusses policies and procedures with children

Ensures that centre cleanliness is consistently maintained

Plans food and drink that is sufficient for the number of children in the group

Caters for any special dietary requirements in the group

Washes own hands thoroughly before preparation of food

Wears appropriate clothing and footwear for the task

Follows safe food storage guidelines

Presents food and drinks in an attractive way for the children

Serves food, drinks and bottles at correct temperature
