The density of the timber components was not confirmed against the minimum specification for density in the documentation. The details of the vision panel could not be confirmed. 7. It was apparent that a new door had been installed into an existing frame. The installation of a new door with associated ironmongery and intumescent/smoke seals into an existing frame may not be suitable in providing the required fire separation as the condition and quality/density of the frame and supporting construction could not be confirmed. The door-set only displayed a reference to a fire test and/or assessment and it was not evident that the door-set was of third party independent certification scheme. It was not possible to remove door hardware to verify that the correct intumescent gaskets had been installed between the hardware components and the door / door frame.
