Pre-trip

  • Pre-trips truck before driving. Makes a habit of checking throughout the day for damage oil leaks, loose hoses, etc.

  • Checks load prior to leaving facility. Returns to dock for assistance if there is a problem with the load.<br><br>

  • Stretches prior to delivery process and a minimum of 3 times daily and stays hydrated throughout the day.<br><br>

  • Is the driver wearing company-approved footwear? (3/4 boot required after 7/1/16)

  • Does the driver check the fifth wheel with flashlight?

  • Does the Driver have his cones for use while backing?

  • Does the driver use a “Three Point Stance” to enter and exit the vehicle?

Delivery

  • Pivot with feet and never twist at waist when placing product<br>

  • When entering an intersection, does the driver show safe driving techniques?<br>

  • Does driver make sure box lid for air valves are closed on drop decks?

  • Prior to going up or down steps, driver observes ground, delivery path, stairs and customer entry for adverse conditions.<br><br><br>

  • When going up steps, rest tires against step, pull back on hand truck and while keeping back straight use legs to pull handcart<br>

  • Does the driver maintain control of load while going down ramp?

  • Enter ramp with hand truck first

  • Enter ramp squarely with opening<br>

  • Never backs down a ramp<br>

  • Handcart is not overloaded<br>

  • Can easily be seen over to maintain control of load<br>

  • Notifies supervisor of any selection problems, spills, delays, accidents or injuries.<br>

  • Employee reports suspicious activity, external/internal threats, suspicion of wrong-doing or product tampering immediately.<br>

  • Driver verifies refrigeration unit is properly functioning. Frozen is set to ≤ 0° and refrigerated is set to ≤ 36°F.<br>

  • Whenever possible and not prohibited by ordinance, driver keeps refrigeration unit on throughout route.

  • Driver stacks products without creating risk of cross contamination.

  • Driver keeps bulkhead and back door closed throughout delivery

  • Selected drivers take refrigerated product temperatures with calibrated thermometer when prompted by STS at delivery.<br>

  • Driver keys the product temperatures into the STS unit.

  • For key drops, driver places all products in proper temperature controlled area.

  • Driver identifies items that are required to be refused at delivery.

  • Driver accepts all returns (except special order) at time of delivery.

  • For items approved for return after delivery, driver inspects packaging is sealed and intact and inspects chemicals for damage.

  • Driver obtains customer signature on all delivery and return invoices.

  • In case of Breakdown, driver contacts Manager immediately.
