Tank Questions

  • Material - What is it made of

  • Tank sides and panels - Can you see any corrosion, rust, cracks, or warping

  • Welded or bolted joints - Can you see any corrosion, rust or leaks

  • Can you see any substantial damage, cracking or crazing to the tank

  • Can you see any damp areas that may indicate an internal crack or hole

  • Is there any evidance on the surrounding ground of leakage

  • Condition of the inlet valve's

  • Condition of the outlet valve's

  • Condition of the sight glass

  • Are security locks fitted to inlet and outlet valves during non operational hours

  • Are all vents and fill points protected to prevent water and debris from entering

  • Is the tank labelling and any operating instructions still present and legible

Bund/ Secondary Containment Questions

  • Does the bund need emptying of rainwater, leaves or any other waste

  • Condition of secondary containment floor - Does it look sealed with no cracks

  • Walls of secondary containment - Any visible cracks, any leaks seen on the outside are expansion joints in good condition

  • Is secondary containment adequate to contain 110% of the tanks capacity
