Driver Presentation

Driver PPE (Lace-up safety boots, high visibility clothing, safety glasses, hard hat (in date), gloves (chemical resistant))

Driver demonstrates understanding of TERP

Driver knowledge of where TERP is located

Driver knowledge of EIP and Hazchem Code

Driver knowledge of DG segregation requirements from other placard loads

Driver BFM Authorisation letter available

Driver appropriately inducted at relevant delivery/pick up sites

Work diary sheet and pre-start available and up-to-date

Safe Driving Plan/Journey Management Plan available for journey

Appropriate SDS available

General appearance and cleanliness of the vehicle

Registration plate and label visible

In cab fire extinguisher (10B minimum) with hose present and in current service

Fire extinguisher (60B) present and in current service

Windscreen and mirrors clean and adjusted for driver

Cabin is tidy and all items secured

Sleeper compartment and fridge clean and tidy

MT Data and GPS systems functional

Mobile phone hands free kit functional (if fitted)

Seat belts operational with no signs of fraying and fully retracts

Flashing light operational (where fitted)

All lights in working order

Reversing beeper operational (if applicable)

Documents available for Emergency Information Holder: SDS for chemical carried/to be carried, Route Assessment/Journey Management Plan and EPG for chemical carried or current HB76 book (2010 version)

Log books carried and completed (where required)

No flammable or combustible liquids carried in truck

Matches/lighters stowed in toolbox below sleeper cab or glove box

Exhaust is directed away from tank/trailer

Battery firmly secured with electrically insulated acid resistant cover

Battery isolator outside of rear of cab and clearly labelled

Tyres and rims have no signs of damage and have appropriate tread

Wheel nut indicators fitted and aligned

Fuel tanks properly vented and vents clear

Fuel tanks under load fitted with steel fire screen

Reflective triangles, torch and tools for minor repairs available

Appropriate wheel chocks available

Registration plate and label visible

Fire extinguisher (60B) present and in current service (on each trailer)

Trailer licensing compliant with product (DG)

Lights in good working order

Electrical plugs and air service lines and cable in good condition

Security seals in place and accurately recorded for load manifest
