Pre-Shift Assessment

  • Driver arrives to work on time

  • Driver performs pre-trip inspection visually in and around bus and through the MOTIVE app

  • Leaves yard in a timely manner and arrives to first stop before service time (AM) or arrives before shift change ends (PM)

Field Safety Observation

  • Driver drives the posted speed limit & adheres to campus signals

  • Driver uses seatbelt continuously throughout the trip

  • Driver displays safe driving habits through campus construction zones, heavy pedestrian walk ways, & parking lots

  • Driver displays correct use of turn and hazard signals

  • Driver displays safe driving distance from vehicles in front of them

  • Appropriate use of cell phone to check MOTIVE status & operational messages throughout the day, not to be used while bus is in motion

Quality Assessment

  • Driver is in proper campus-Groome uniform for work and is clean and neat

  • Driver makes each stop along the route in order and stages the appropriate 1 - 2 minutes, unless in restroom

  • When needed, driver takes restroom break NOT to exceed 12 minutes. Meaning bus is staged/ not moving for 12 minutes

  • When needed, driver notifies supervisor, office, or manager of emergency situation or longer restroom break exceeding 12 mins

  • Appropriate use of RADIO when communicating observations to the TEAM/Supervisors or taking a restroom break (10-100)

Customer Service

  • Driver greets passengers

  • Driver is courteous and professional when speaking with passengers

  • Bus music radio station is at respectable level and on a approved campus station

  • Driver stops at the correct route stop and does not go to unapproved stop locations

  • Driver has a clean bus and does not have any food containers, plates, or any snacks bags/ trash in the windshields

  • Driver communicates with passengers, when they need to go to the restroom or when a stop is needed to communicate with the TEAM or supervisor
