  • Oil Levels - Visual inspection of motor, transmission, clutch and brake fluid levels as per the manufacturer's handbook

  • Water Levels - Visual inspection of motor cooling system and washer fluid levels as per the manufacturer's handbook

Motor

  • Air Filter - Intact and serviceable

  • Take photo of area of concern

  • Belts and Hoses - Visual inspect condition for deterioration

  • Take photo of area of concern

  • Battery - Check that batteries terminals are tight and secure

  • Take photo of area of concern

  • General visual check - No obvious signs on fluid leaks, damage or corrosion

  • Take photo of area of concern

Exterior

  • Panels and glass - visual inspection for any damage, corrosion not yet reported

  • Take photo of area of concern

Electrical

  • Lights - All lamps including headlights an warning lights are functional

  • Report immediately to supervisor

  • Radio - UHF/HF - radio check conducted

Wheels (including spare)

  • Tyres - Tyres are inflated according to the manufacturer's recommendation and overall condition checked

  • Rims - Visual inspection for cracks, deformations, corrosion or other damage. Ensure all wheel nuts are in place

  • Take photo of area of concern

Other

  • Specialised Equipment - Assess the tasks and take the appropriate equipment as deemed necessary

  • Tools and spares - suitably stored and available as per your local area requirements

Trailer

  • Coupling - check coupling is on tow ball, locked down fully, safety clip in place. Safety chains are shackled to tow bar with rated shackles (ensure dual chains are crossed)

  • Brakes - Check brake override latch is open if brakes fitted. Check handbrake is off

  • Lights - connect lights and test

  • Wheels - Check jockey wheel is stowed. Tyres are inflated appropriate for the task and overall tyre condition checked

Administration

  • Ensure that the log entries are up to date

  • Report all non-compliance and inspections failures to group leader immediately
