    1. Start the Inspection by selecting the type of crane that is going to be inspected and rate each item as "Compliant", "Non- Compliant", "N/A".
    2. Add photos and notes by clicking on the paperclip icon.
    3. To add a Corrective Measure click on the paperclip icon then "Add Action", provide a description, assign to a member, set priority and due date.
    4. Complete audit by providing digital signature.
    5. Share your report by exporting as PDF, Word, Excel or Web Link.

    Note: Please report any unusual findings to your Team Leader immediately.

Inspection Items

  • Ensure load rating is marked on each side of the crane or hoist and legible from the floor

  • Check that warning labels are clean and legible

  • Check hooks for deformation, cracks, bends, and excessive thread damage

  • Check that the hook safety latch is in place and functioning properly

  • Check hook attachment and securing means

  • Check hoist chains and end connections for excessive wear, twist, distortion interfering with proper function, or stretch

  • Check running rope and end connections for wear, broken strands, etc

  • Check that wires, ropes, and chains are reeved and seated in the drum grooves properly

  • Ensure there are no loose, broken, or damaged parts on the hoist, lever, trolley, bridge, runway, beam clamp, or electric systems

  • Check for deformation of load block, drums, and sheaves

  • Check placement of ends stops

  • Ensure there are no loose items that could fall

  • Verify pendant controls are not damaged (check for damage or missing labels)

  • Ensure all pendant controls are operating properly and moving in the right direction

  • Check all functional operating mechanisms for maladjustment and unusual sounds

  • Check for deterioration or leakage in lines, tanks, valves, drain pumps and other parts of air or hydraulic systems

  • Check hoist, bridge, and trolley braking system for proper operation

  • Ensure trolley and bridge are on-track and functioning smoothly

  • Check for little or no hook drift when releasing controls in the up or down position

  • Ensure the limit devices and switch is functioning properly without a load on the hook
