General observatioms

  • Examine the top plate. Ensure all bolts are fitted and are tight. There should be no gap visible between plate and grab body. <br><br>

  • Are there any oil leaks from hydraulic cylinders/pipework.<br>

  • Examine all the lifting shackles for signs of wear, nicks, gouges and distortion. <br>Level of wear depicted on the VM board is acceptable<br>

  • Check shackle nut/bolt is tight No gap should be visible between bolt/shackle. Check split pin is fitted & not damaged.<br>Level of wear depicted on the VM board is acceptable<br><br>

  • Check grab body around all pivots for signs of cracking. <br><br>

  • Check the umbilical sock and lanyard are in good condition and securely attached. <br>

  • Check umbilical cable is not damaged or twisted.<br><br>

  • Check umbilical cable plug is firmly attached and plug/socket/ cable gland is not damaged.

  • Check hydraulic cylinder top pins are located correctly. Check locating pin is fitted in free end.<br>

  • Check hydraulic cylinder bottom pins are located correctly. Check locating pin is fitted in free end<br>

  • Check petal pivot pins are located correctly. Check locating pin is fitted in free end<br>

  • Examine above the pivots for build-up of waste. Clear if any is found.<br>

  • Examine behind lower petal pivots for build-up of waste. Clear if any is found.<br>

Calibration

  • Has calibration been carried out to SWP OMSKIRKOP 1.4.202?

Follow up

  • Have any work orders been raised as a result of this inspection

  • Are there any issues which require immediate action

  • Has any non compliance been recorded on the electronic shift log?

  • Has the visual management board been updated
