  • This audit is based on Schedules "C" and "D" which forms part of the overall station cleaning contract held with Kiwirail. Schedule "C" is related to platform areas through 1 to 9 and the concourse end to platforms and schedule "D" is related to the public toilets off the main concourse area.

  • Schedule "C" Platform Areas
    Platforms, (concourse to end of platforms) and tracks from wall line of main concourse

    Daily sweep of platforms and remove rubbish
    Weekly - hose all platforms including structural portal frames and seats using safety guidelines: DC awareness
    Blue painted columns clean periodically to remove dirt build up
    seats and bases to be cleaned daily to remove firt build up
    Walls : clean monthly to remove dirt build up up to a height of 3m (three metres)
    Rubbish
    Rubbish containers are to be emptied throughout the day and cleaned as required, but not less than once a day
    Pick up rubbish on the platforms and tracks from platform 1 - 9 to north end of sealed platforms and stop blocks, observing safety guidelines
    Clean rubbish from platform gardens.
    Glass panels on platforms to be cleaned daily and steak free including the removal of any stickers or other materials.

  • Schedule "D" Public toilets on Main Concourse

    Areas are to be cleaned 7 days per week
    The toilets at the station are a significant element by which the "cleanliness" of the system is judged. it is essential that the toilets be maintained in a clean and hygienic condition and free of graffiti and rubbish at all times.

    Provide a attendant during opening hours
    Sweep and mop floors during the opening hours to maintain a hygienic and clean area
    Clean walls, ledges and toilet partitions with a disinfectant cleaner daily
    Replenish toilet paper and paper towels as required
    Clean sink,plug holes ,basins and taps
    Clean glass and mirrors and leave streak free
    Clean entire toilets and bases regularly during opening hours
    Total area to be kept clean and well presented during the open hours
    Monitor and report behaviour which could or has led to damage in the toilets
    The NZ police are to be contacted if there is any indecent or objectionable behaviour and vandalism reported by members of the public
    Clean doors and frames to two (2) metres daily
    Remove rubbish daily to designated disposal area daily
    On a monthly basis clean down all wall, floor and ceiling surfaces, including but not limited to hand marks, general dirt and dust that may have built up over the preceding month.
