Guard Standards

  • What are the key things to remember prior to leaving the security office to commence your shift. ( Sign into register, Sign into time sheet, check presentation, clean shaven, name badge on, crowd control number on.

  • What are the key points to remember when dealing with youth in the center.<br>(Always try to have 2 staff members, Establish if they are here alone or with a Parent / Guardian, For Females try to have female guard present, Never be isolated with a young person.)

  • You receive a question from the Media, what do you do?<br>Inform them that unfortunately you can't comment but you will get someone who can (if unavailable, take down their name, company, number & deadline)<br>Centre Manager is the only person on site who can talk to the media<br>

  • When do we call police for a lost child?<br>After 10mins from when we the search begins

RISK

  • What is the max height a delivery trolley can be when in the centre?<br>(It should not be above eye level of the person pushing the trolley, the need to be able to see where they are going as customers have been injured. Security should also speak to any delivery driver who has stock stacked up dangerously and ask them to stop what they are doing)

  • Are retailers allowed to use ladders in the malls when working on their shop front windows during trade?<br>(No, these works should be completed outside of the core trading hours)

FIRST AID

  • Where are the AED's located?<br>CM Office, CSD1, CSD2 & Woolworths Mall near seating area, Myer Level 1 Void & Commonwealth Bank Entry

  • If a member of the public asks to use the AED, What would you do?<br>(Give it to them & assist where possible)

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • If someone has locked their keys in their car. What would your response be?

  • If a customer comes to you and says they cannot find their car, what processes would you undertake to re-unite the customer with their car?<br>Find out what entry they drove in, which shop they first saw, did they drive up a ramp, etc....

SCENARIOS

  • A Customer reports to you that there is a child locked in a car in the car park. What actions do you take?<br>Take Break Glass & First Aid Kits with you, Locate Car, Confirm Child is alone in car, Contact 000. If child is in immediate danger use break glass kit to free child.

  • A customer comes to you and informs you their car has a flat battery, can we help?<br>YES, we would inform them that we have a Jump Start Kit in the Security Office and in the Car Park office<br>There is also a waiver that needs to be signed by the customer before using it.

  • You see a banned offender in the mall, what do you do?<br>(Approach the offender, remind him/her that they are banned and then ask them to leave the center)

  • You receive a call from the cleaners advising that they have found a wallet in the food court. What do you do? <br>(Attend the food court collect the wallet check content and confirm any cash in the wallet with the cleaner that handed it to you. Take the wallet to CSD1 and again confirm contents of wallet with the person you hand it to. Make a page for owner of wallet to come to desk. Make sure you are on CCTV while you are in possession of the wallet.)

  • You receive a call from a retailer advising that they have apprehended an offender for theft from their shop. You attend the store to take details. What key details do you need to obtain? ( Offenders Name, Address & DOB, Reporting Person's Name & Contact Number, Total Value of stolen goods, Take Photo of Offender & Stolen Goods, Attending Police Details )

  • You are walking through the mall when you locate a shoe box in a plastic bag located next to the entry to a lift. What do you do? ( Follow HOT ALERTS, Review CCTV to try to find owner, ask surrounding retailers if they saw anyone put it there
