Environmental Care

  • Are emergency spill kits available and adequately stocked?

  • Are oil and flammable containers stored properly (i.e. spill containment or in an approved flammable cabinet)?

  • Have any spills been reported to the supervisor, SHE-Q department and entered into SHIMS?

Communication

  • Are spotters required and do they understand their duties?

  • Is there a mutual understanding of hand signals between the operator and the signal person?

  • Are there any complaints about the use of two way radios (stepping over, vulgar language, etc)?

  • Are two way radios in good condition and include spare batteries?

Suspended man baskets

  • Are Suspended Man Baskets used?

  • Is the checklist for hoisting of personnel in man basket completed?

  • Have all permits been obtained from the jurisdictions OH&S department?
