Each crew should agree to have one Pit Patroller complete the checklist with support from the other Pit Patrollers. The checklist should be completed in the field over the shift. The completed checklist can be used at the shift handover.

A - All Load Locations

  • Load Locations inspected

  • Are all locations appropriately sized, ideally a min of 90m x 70m max of 120m x 100m if achievable.

  • Are location refines inside physical boundaries - check for dig faces, batter trims, paddock dumps, windrows etc

  • Are all physical hazards in the location protected clearly by obstacles ie Lighting plants

  • Are all grader windrows and delineation in place for static roads running into and out of locations

B - All Dump Locations

  • Dump Locations inspected

  • Are Dump locations constructed to the standard - check 1.8m winrow heights, slumping etc

  • Are Dump locations appropriately sized, ideally a min 90m x 70m max 120m x 100m if achievable.

  • Are Dump location refines within the physical boundary and high dump refine smooth

  • Are all physical hazards in the dump location protected clearly by obstacles ie lighting plants

  • Are trucks tipping between dump markers to design

  • Are the dump nodes updated with Control

  • Are you using the power BI app to check that the dump configurations are adequate for each location and material being dumped ie bed hold times, flat/slope setting.

  • Are all Grader windrows and delineation in place for static roads running into and out of dumps.

  • Please note any Dumps that have excessive tray up times more than 15sec

C - Static Courses and Intersections

  • Have you checked that there no one way roads within static courses and intersections

  • Are Static courses / intersections correctly demarcated

  • Are toe and crest markers in the correct location on ramps

  • Are Static courses and Intersections surveyed within physical boundaries

D - ROM and Crusher

  • Are the Taught courses at the crusher graded and free of ruts

  • Are the crusher dump configurations appropriate for the material being dumped

  • Have you looked at the PLOD to see loading movements / material changes for the shift

  • Are the ROM / Finger paddock dumps tipped out to provide a safety buffer - no less than 3 rows at the bottom

  • Is there enough room at the bottom of the Rom's to reclaim material

  • Please note if the Tray up time at the Crusher is more than 15sec

E - General Pit Areas

  • Is the MWSL appropriate for ground conditions

  • Have you looked at the PLOD for load and dump options for the shift

  • Have you checked for any unnecessary underlining roads or locations that are no longer required

  • Have you checked after blasting or pit maintainence that material has not been pushed into the AT

  • Are AT access gates working correctly and have signage in place to restrict access

  • Are LASL appropriately speed limited and sized for conditions

  • Have you cleaned the cab and checked it has enough fuel for the next shift

  • Please list any major changes during the shift
