Inspection

  • Any obvious physical damage to AED?

  • Is the AED unit clean and free from contamination?

  • Is the connector socket free of cracks or any other signs of damage? (Pads should be disconnected from unit).

  • Does the response kit contain the necessary accessories? (Air mask, nitrile gloves, scissors, razor, & paper towels).

  • Does the AED need to be serviced? (Message saying "Service Required")

Maintenance

  • Open the AED lid and wait for the AED to indicate status:

  • Did the indicator light change to red?

  • After 5 seconds did the indicator status return to green?

  • Are the electrodes expired?

  • Can you hear the voice prompts?

  • Close the lid, did the indicator light change to red?

  • After 5 seconds did the indicator status return to green?

  • Inspectors Signature.
