  • Jobs To Attend

    Fire: Definitely attend, try and ascertain extent of fire before arrival onsite, call emergency services if required. DO NOT place yourself in danger.

    Blocked toilets/sewers: Attend and plunge blocked toilet, (singular), if there are multiple blocked toilets, or a blocked sewer, take the sewer machine or jet, (jet requires a 2nd man).

    Break in/vandalism: Try and ascertain how much damage has occurred. Make sure security stay onsite until works are complete. Try to pick up materials enroute, and ring for a second man if it is deemed necessary.

    Doors not securing: Try and ascertain problem before attending, pick up any necessary materials enroute. Ensure doors are secure before leaving site.

    Power/lighting failures: Check online first for any reported area power outages, (do not attend if there is an area fault). If attendance deemed necessary, check the switchboard for any dropped rcd`s. If the problem is not easily rectified, engage an electrician to effect repairs, (in normal hours if possible). If the security company ring to advise that the alarm is on battery back up due to power outage, advise them to send a patrol once battery has died, as long as the building is secure, there is no need to attend.

    Members of public locked in toilets/buildings: Attend, let the person/people out, secure building.

    Salto malfunctioning: Attend site, effect access, refer user to Salto issuer.

    Roof Leaks: Ring for a second man for any jobs requiring roof access, (only access roof if weather permits), mark out area of leak for following attendance. Place pedestrian management around wet floor areas.

    Smoke alarm warning: Attend, but proceed with caution, DO NOT place yourself in danger. Call emergency services if required.

    HVAC faults: If this refers to heating issues, tell client to wait for an hour before ringing back. Heating systems can take that long to begin to operate effectively.

    Jobs Not To Attend

    Forgot keys/wrong keys: Refer the user to key issuer.

    Alarm activation: Send patrol.

    Jobs on beach: Do not attend unless the job is attached to a building. Beach showers and drinking fountains are Citywide`s territory.

    People ringing up for non-urgent jobs: Emptying bins, cleaning club rooms, need toilet paper dispensers filled, none of these should be attended.

    Toilets defaced with waste: Refer to particular Council cleaning contractor.

    Irrigation issues: Normally a Parks job.

    Cars/people locked in car parks: Not our responsibility, there is normally a number on a sign at the car park for this purpose.
