Does the student recognise the need for Airway management?

Does the student use correct technique to open the mouth?

Can the student perform Triple airway manouevre?

Equipment

Oropharyngeal Airway. Correctly selected, measured, inserted and checked for patency.

Nasopharyngeal Airway. Correctly selected, measured, inserted and checked for patency. 2nd NPA considered?

Supraglottic Airway. Correctly selected, measured, inserted and checked for patency.

Suction

Does the student select the correct device, soft catheter, Yankeur and use appropriately?

Underpinning Knowledge Questions

Stridor is a noise heard in the upper airway?

An NPA should be inserted into the Right Nostril first if possible?

If a patient rejects the airway adjunct you should revert to manual techniques for maintaining their airway?

A ventilated patient with an iGel in place should be ventilated at 20 resps per minute?

Blind finger sweeps are appropriate in the adult choking patient?
