Ask yourself can this work be completed without a hot works process e.g. Can i fabricate the pipe work in another area, away from combustable materials. Can alternative methods be used eg. compression fittings, re-routing of pipe work. If not, complete the following:

  • Has assessment of the area where the work is to be carried out been completed?

  • Have all combustible materials in close proximity of the work area been moved

  • Have materials/structures in close proximity been protected with fire blankets and/or heat mats

  • Check all equipment to be used for hot works prior to use inside the premises

  • Spare gas canisters must be kept in van and have safety cap in place at all times

  • Is there a suitable fire extinguisher in the working area - Dry powder is recommended

  • Have escape routes been identified from the working area

  • Have you checked the number of persons in premises and informed them that hot works is being conducted within the premises

  • Are the standard "Hot Works" related signs in place throughout the premises

  • Is there any fire detection equipment in the area of hot works, if so will it be affected

  • Time work commenced

  • Time work completed

  • Time final inspection of area completed. (minimum 60 minutes on completion of works)

  • Thermal image pictures of completed hot works

  • Operative signature

  • Correct choice of bathroom fitted

  • Is bath siliconed?

  • Bath sealed whilst full of water

  • Bath level and draining correctly

  • Bath panel secure and flush?

  • Basin pedistal screwed and secure

  • Wash basin secure

  • All taps secure

  • WC flushers?

  • Waste and pipe work connected

  • Earth bonding complete?

  • All old works removed and made good?

  • WC waste water tight

  • WC seat secure and ok?

  • Is bathroom left clean and tidy

  • Shower curtain fitted and secure

  • Is tiling ok?

  • Grab rails (if applicable)

  • Shower curtail rail level?

  • No gaps between tiles and shower

  • Vinyl fitted behind sanitary ware

  • Plaster/decorating acceptable
