Equipment and markings

  • Are lead in, pushback and stop bar markings serviceable?

  • Are airside road markings serviceable?

  • Electrical equipment is in good condition with no obvious damage to cords and cables?

  • Extension cords are in good condition and there is no piggy backing when using double adapters or power boards?

  • Is all electrical equipment within its test date?

  • Switchboards are key locked with key removed and restricted access?

Fire & Emergency

  • Do fire hydrants and extinguishers have free access?

  • Fire equipment has a yellow metal tag is within 6 months from the last test date?

  • Fire hydrant cabinets are clear of FOD and stored items?

  • Are safety showers in service date of 1 year and are they operational?

  • Do the safety showers have clear and free access?

  • Are there spill kits available, are they appropriately stocked and is there signage in the location of the spill kit?

  • There is a dedicated emergency assembly point and staff are aware of its location?

Hazardous Substances

  • Are substances appropriately stored in accordance with the SDS?

  • Do all substances and containers have compliant labelling?

  • Is it obvious who the custodians of the substances are?

  • Are gas cylinders stored upright and secured?

  • Are substances and gases appropriately segregated in accordance with the SDS?

  • Is there appropriate signage for all hazardous chemicals (including gas cylinders) stored on the apron in greater quantities than household quantity?

  • There are no obvious spills in the vicinity of any stored substances?

General Safety/Housekeeping

  • Is the apron clear of FOD?

  • Are the FOD bins being emptied regularly?

  • Are the airline general waste bins being emptied regularly?

  • Aisles and walkways are free from obstruction i.e. no cords, boxes, bag or other items in pathways that could be a hazard?

  • Are work materials neatly stored - is there appropriate shelving, racking etc. allocated in close to work areas?

  • Ground is in good condition and free of slip and trip hazards?

  • Lighting is functioning and at a level to ensure a safe work environment for all persons?

  • There were no unsafe acts or behaviours observed during the inspection.
