Press

  • Is the press secured with solid anchor points?

Transmission flush machine

  • Is the flush machine in good working order?

  • Is the machine free from any oil leaks that create slip hazards?

Hand held electrical equipment

  • Are all hand held electrical tools in good working order?

  • Are all the hand held electrical equipment tagged and in date (within 6 months of last test date)

Fire extinguishers

  • Do all the fire extinguishers have a one meter exclusion zone?

  • Are all the fire extinguishers service schedules up to date (should be every 6 months, check tag)

  • Is there appropriate signage to identify where fire extinguishers are located?

First aid

  • Is the first aid kit easily accessible?

  • Is the first aid kit adequately stocked (should be serviced every 6 months)

  • Is an eye wash station in place?

  • Is the eye wash station adequately stocked and the product is in date? Must have a minimum of three full 1 litre bottles of saline)

Workshop rest rooms

  • Are the rest rooms clean

  • Is there sufficient toilet paper?

  • Is there sufficient soap and hand towels available?

  • Are the bins empty and clean?

Car wash

  • Is all the lighting working?

  • Is the slippery when wet safety signage in place?

  • Is personal protective equipment (PPE) available and being used, gloves are required (cleaning inside car, when handling corrosives such as tyre shine)

Hazardous materials

  • Waste fuel drums are sealed and identified with magnetic labels, situated 3 metres from ignition source such as power point, oxy, grinder etc.?

  • MSDS file is in the office and has the current MSDS for each hazardous chemical on site?

  • Corrosive liquids are stored at least 5 metres away from flammable liquids?

  • Risk assessments have been completed for all hazardous substances?

Environmental

Building

  • Are all repairs and servicing being conducted inside the workshop?

  • Does the workshop have bunding across external openings, or, does the floor drain inwards so that fluids stay contained inside the car wash area?

  • Are external storm drains marked with the following or similar "Drains to River" or "Clean Water Only" or "Storm Water"
