Daily Café Safety Inspection

  • All electrical equipment, plugs and leads in good condition (no exposed wires)

  • No sharp objects or items (e.g. knives) present

  • Floors clear with no tripping hazards or spills present

  • Equipment present to clean up potential spills e.g. mops, buckets, towels

  • All food items within date and in good condition e.g. no mould

  • No evidence of animal (e.g. insects, rats) contamination?

  • Cleaning products secured, with access by staff only

  • Surfaces cleaned and clear

  • Clear instructions & signage in place for use of equipment e.g. coffee machine

  • Warning signs displayed for hot items e.g. boiling water tap, urn etc

  • Boiling water tap safety switch in place and working

  • All cutlery, utensils, cups etc are clean and in good condition e.g. no chips or sharp surfaces.

  • Chairs and tables in good, working condition with no observable damage

  • Unused electrical sockets plugged/ covered to prevent access
