145.A.40 - Tools, Equipment and Material

  • Does the AMO have tools, equipment and materials that enable it to provide maintenance services for which the AMO has an approval and rating? 145.A.40(a)

  • Where the maintenance data specifies a particular tool or equipment must be used in the maintenance of the aircraft or aeronautical product does the AMO ensure that tool or equipment is used? (145.A.40(a)(1)) [Unless the use of alternative tooling/equipment is approved as per 145.A.45(d)(3)

  • Is the tooling and equipment permanently available or, where a tool or equipment is infrequently used, there is a method of access to that tool or equipment that is described in the AMO exposition? 145.A.40(a)(2)

  • Is there sufficient aircraft access equipment and inspection platforms or docks to properly carry out the approved scope of maintenance? 145.A.40(a)(3)

  • Does the AMO ensure that all tools, equipment and, particularly, test equipment that requires calibration, are controlled and calibrated at a periodicity to ensure serviceability and accuracy in accordance with the procedures set out in the AMO's exposition? 145.A.40(b)(1)

  • Does the AMO ensure that an serviceability/calibration checks of tools/equipment is done as per the OME recommendations AND/OR a nationally recognised standard? 145.A.40(b)(1-2)
