Caustic Bladder Levels

  • Level of Caustic Bladder 1.

  • Level of Caustic Bladder 2.

Bladder 2 Leak Detection Pit Inspections

  • Liquid in leak pit pH is less than 10 and free of dried caustic.

  • If the pit does contain liquid, is it below the inlet pipes?

  • Leak detection valve opened 100% and dry?

  • Liquid from leak detection pipe pH is less than 10 when the valve is opened.

  • Valve left in closed position once tasks have been completed.

  • Is the sump pump switched in the β€˜ON’ position?

South drain inspection

  • Southern drain free of any erosion damage or evidence of caustic leaching into the drain (water pH less than 9)

North drain inspection

  • Northern drain free of any erosion damage or evidence of caustic leaching into the drain (water pH <9)

Visual inspection of the ground around both bladders and pH checks of puddles using the pH strips (pH strips stock code 40116373)

  • Ground around the bladders free of contaminated puddles (pH <9), wet patches on embankments or dried caustic.

: Pump station and Orica transfer bund condition

  • Pump station bund inspected and free of visible cracks or concrete defects, equipment damage; missing flange covers/drain valves and spillages outside the bund (visual inspection only)

  • Orica transfer bund inspected and free of visible cracks, equipment damage; missing flange covers/drain valves and spillages outside the bund (visual inspection only)

Mechanical seal checks and reservoir tank (180PU10110)

  • Level (site glass) is full

  • Pressure reading is below 0

  • Temperature is below 60 degrees

  • Pump {180PU10110} is operational and available for use

Bladder #1 interceptor pit checks (also known as the weir)

  • Is the Bladder #1 interceptor pit/weir dry? If water is present, do a pH check with calibrated instrument to confirm pH between 6.5-9. If the pH is between 6.5 – 9, the valve can be opened to drain down. Valve to be closed following drain down. (Record Ph in notes)
