  • Combustible garbage is removed at least weekly or more frequently if quantities exceed acceptable limits.

  • Small items of combustible garbage are deposited in covered fire proof containers (ie metal garbage cans with lids).

  • Combustible garbage is removed to surface and not disposed of in backfill stopes.

  • Spill pads, rags, etc used to clean up fuel or oil spills are removed from the mine without delay.

  • All combustible liquids, flammable liquids and petroleum products are stored in suitable enclosed labeled containers.

  • Except for the quantity reasonably needed for immediate use; fire cabinets are used to store flammable so such as spay paint or WD40.

  • Stored oxygen cylinders are kept separate from the flammable gas cylinders by a space of at least 6m; or a 1.5m high non-combustible barrier.

  • No propane or similar heavy gas is used or taken underground in quantities greater than 2.7kg.

  • There is a known accumulation of combustible refuse underground. If 'Yes' please specify the location and planned action/mitigation.

  • Supervisors complete a combustible refuse report for their area at least weekly and report in the log.
