Section Track - Including SCSR Storage and Refuge Alternative

  • <br>-Do SCSR storage locations have correct number of SCSRs (30)/are all SCRSs in green/signs in every entry/double cone & double diamond & connected to lifeline/are storage boxes in damaged/is there a date board present<br><br><br><br><br><br><br>

  • -RA location properly marked on map

  • -on deployment end 50' clearance or material that can damage RA tent

  • -1 fire extinguisher required at RA (properly punched tag)

  • -operating pager required at RA

  • -check inspection book & gauges (RA must be inspected weekly)

  • -RA must have multi-gas detector & radio in box

  • -"REFUGE" signs in all entries

  • -ensure RA is properly tied in to lifeline with double cone & pig tail (curly)

  • -are there any holes or leakage in stoppings in crosscuts

  • -are crosscuts well rock dusted

  • -is lifeline clean and hung properly/is lifeline incorrectly hung in J hooks or hung above any cables, water lines, air line/missing any cones or man door balls

End of Track to Face

Scoop Charger

  • -ensure that crosscut charging station is in is rock dusted adequately

  • -sign "NO FLAMMABLE MATERIAL" must be hung/resuscitation chart must be present

  • -charging station must have 5 bags of rock dust & a fire extinguisher (hung on rib/properly tagged)

  • -charger cable/jumper cables must be hung

  • -must be rubber shock mat in front of charger/metal behind charger between charger & rib

  • -restraining clamp on cables & packing glands must be tight

  • -fireproof cloth must be hung to the ground & to the wall stopping

  • -charger must be continually vented to the return with no re-circulation

  • -if charging station is in crosscut with man door the door must not be blocked

  • -there should be no flammable material (paper/empty rock dust bags/coal/etc) in the charging station

Emergency Sled

  • -20 posts/wedges/cap pieces/saw/drinking water/axe/500' fire hose/2 brass nozzles/knuckle valve/2" female to female couple/2" brass nipple/2 wrenches/4 way

  • -first aid kit & EMT kit

  • -40 SCSRs (write down serial numbers)

Load Center

  • -5 bags of rock dust & fire extinguisher properly tagged

  • -high voltage signs front & rear

  • -ground clamp from load center to high voltage car

  • -shock mats all the way around (no dirt on mats)

  • -no flammable material/junk on top of load center

  • -cables hung on insulated hooks & with safety chains

  • -ID tags on each plug/receptacle/breaker (if sealed breaker make sure caps are in place)

  • -no openings into back of plug (bushings or tape)

  • -working phone & pager

  • -escape way map with updated escape ways/RA/load center locations

Sunflo Pump

  • -fire extinguisher hung on rib & properly tagged

  • -shock mat

  • -fire tap off pump

  • -resuscitation chart present

Oxygen & Acetylene Tanks

  • -not located under power cable

  • -not located near or across from RA

  • -not located where they can be hit by equipment

Return

  • -return must be adequately dusted (it is important for dust to be continually run through fan)

  • -ensure lifeline is hung up to loading point

  • -SIGNS man doors/refuge/SCSRs

  • -no supplies/canvas laying in return

  • -no standing water

  • -less than 1% methane

Faces

  • -canvas within 10' of face

  • -less than 1% methane

  • -"UNSUPPORTED ROOF SIGNS" on both sides of canvas

  • -ensure adequately rock dusted

  • -face must be scooped, ensure there is no coal accumulation in face

  • -check roof conditions

Fan

  • -ensure dust is going through fan

  • -no oil leaks & check fire suppression caps

Bolters

  • -no dust behind filter/filter in good shape

  • -no oil leaks or accumulation (coal/dirt/oil/etc)

  • -inspect general condition (lights/hoses/etc)

  • -ensure that the kitchen is clean

  • -cable guides roll freely/not more than five splices in cable

  • -20 min gas checks & machine runners papers

Miner/Loader/Shuttle Car

  • -if hot seat exchange per-op checks must be done within 60 mins

  • -if not hot seat exchange pre-op checks must be performed immediately

  • -must have 10 inches of red reflective tape on ends

  • -no splices within 50' of miner/loader

  • -ensure no oil leaks/lights are in operating condition/check for accumulation/gas checks

  • -rock dusted within 40' of face

  • -proper air (9,000 cfm in last open crosscut)

  • -bits and water sprays should be in proper operating condition

  • -not more than two shuttle cars on ground

Feeder

  • -cleaned & dusted (no coal accumulation in front of feeder/scooped)

  • -fire extinguisher properly tagged

  • -ensure no oil leaks or accumulation

  • -clear walkway

  • -ensure levers are locked out with safety pin through them

Scoop

  • -ensure no accumulation in motor compartment (coal/oil/dirt)

  • -ensure winch rope in good condition (does not have more than two broken strands)

  • -caps on on battery cells

  • -all lids have shocks

  • -ensure insulation over battery terminals

  • -ensure all panic bars/lights/brakes/bell are in working condition

Belt

  • -tail piece guarded & no spillage around roller or walkway

  • -walkways clear

  • -extra structure in first out by crosscut

  • -firetrap within 50' of tail

  • -CO monitor with light & audible not on rib (upper 1/3 & toward middle of entry)

  • -must have air velocity of at least 50' per min

  • -JABCO on both sides of tail with cord running inby with JABCO every 500'

  • -fire taps every 300' with sign at every fire tap

  • -shut off valve signs at every shut off

  • -man door signs at every crosscut with man door

  • -signs for SCSRs & RAs

  • -No material/supplies outby first stopping that is sealed

  • -all man doors closed & latched

  • -belt line must be adequately rock dusted

  • -ensure there are no hot or broken rollers/belt rubbing structure and is trained properly
