Touch Panel

  • FVP the room, note all room components and test. Backup the current room code using Knowledge base process in case you need to revert to the previous version. Process is called Retrieving Code from a Processor. Check the box when complete.

  • Campus As Builts can be found on the Knowledge Base under the Highlights section. Drawings or photos can be used as reference tools as needed.

  • Touch Panel Update
    - Did all the buttons function correctly?
    - Were you able to route through the touch panel?
    - Were you able to control volume levels?
    - Were you able to access the tech controls?
    - Did the lighting controls work?
    - Did the shade controls work?
    - Did you reach the AVSC help desk?
    - Were you able to operate the integrated phone and/or video conference systems?

  • -Check firmware version on the touch panel. Update with the Knowledge Base process. **See the note below for 8X type touch panels.
    -Use the recommended version as listed in the Recommended Firmware.xls spreadsheet
    -Available on the Terminal Server located in the folder
    - C:\PepperDash\_Firmware\CRESTRON\Reccomended Firmware.

  • * Note for 8X touch panels, because the update file type is not a .puf file the process is as follows:
    - Using System Info, open the TP, select Functions>>Firmware>>
    -(Browse to the csz file on TS which is located at C:\PepperDash\_Firmware\CRESTRON\Reccomended Firmware\TPMC-8X-GA\tpmc-8x-ga_1.00.04.003).
    -You may have to select *.csz as the type in the selection box in the lower right corner of the window.
    -Select “Open” and the press “Send”.
    -Repeat the steps above to update the Flash player and SP package on these types of touch panels.

  • After the update, does the Touch Panel function correctly?

  • Use troubleshooting process to determine and resolve functionality issues. Contact your Team Captain if unable to complete this step.

  • Check the box if the Touch Panel updated successfully to the recommended version. If unsuccessful, contact your Team Captain before proceeding.

Processor Update

  • - Locate the most recent code package for the Room Type (as noted on Fusion.)
    - Code package will be on Terminal Server located at C:\PepperDash\_EMHC Code Files.

  • - Locate the room type and select the correct package to be used. Enter Room Type and Package version.

  • • Follow the process on Knowledge base to update Processor or the Uploading Code-FTP process as appropriate and then load Display Package on Touch Panel.

  • Was the code package and display project loaded successfully?

  • - Contact your Team Captain once you are 2 hours into the process and provide a progress update. Continue after getting approval.

  • Does the laptop dock function correctly?

  • Do the laptop cables function correctly?

  • Does the IPTV function correctly?

  • Does the Apple TV function correctly?

  • Does the ClickShare function correctly? Audio output from ClickShare?

  • Does the BluRay player function correctly?

  • Does the PPI Board function correctly?

  • Do the microphones function correctly?

  • Does the integrated audio conferencing system function correctly?

  • Does the integrated video conferencing system function correctly? Can you make calls, adjust cameras, does the global directory load?

  • Do the displays function correctly?

  • Do the projectors function correctly? Do the lamp hours appear on the tech page? Can you turn off/on separately from tech page?
