  • Were at least two safety stops performed while approaching the aircraft?<br>First Safety Stop at twenty-five (25) feet.<br>Second Safety Stop at eight (8) feet.

  • Was a guide person used to guide and check for safety stops as vehicles entered the circle of safety?

  • Was the vehicle placed in neutral / park with the parking brake set?

  • Were the tires straight and chocked properly?

Belt Loader Specific

  • Did the business partner drive with the conveyor belt and safety rails in the lowered position?

  • Was the belt loader separator at least one (1) inch away from aircraft?

  • Did the business partner personnel refrain from riding the moving conveyor belt in and out of the aircraft?

  • Was the safety rail used when entering / exiting the aircraft bin?

Tug and Cart Specific

  • Was the Baggage tractor pulling four (4) carts or less?

  • Was the five (5) foot rule observed around the aircraft?

  • Was all Baggage, Company Mail (COMAIL), and/or Company Material (COMAT) transported in the cart and not carried on the baggage tractor?

  • Were all curtains closed on loaded carts?

IN THE CIRCLE OF SAFETY

  • Did all personnel refrain from driving under the aircraft fuselage or wings with the exception of the fuel truck and/or authorized maintenance vehicles?

  • Did all personnel refrain from walking between connected carts or carts connected to a baggage tractor?

  • Did all personnel refrain from walking over a connected tow bar?

  • Did all personnel refrain from using Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) while on the ramp?

UNLOADING

  • Were the cargo nets stowed in the bin?

  • Were wheelchairs offloaded first and taken to the boarding bridge (PLB)?

  • Were bags laid flat with their handles facing away from the aircraft?

  • Was all trash/FOD removed from the cargo bins?

LOADING

  • Were the cargo nets stowed in the bin?

  • Was the load sheet used plane side?

  • Were large, heavy or hard sided bags loaded first?

  • Were bags laid flat with their handles facing towards the aircraft?

  • Were irregularly shaped items hand carried to the bin?

  • Was the two (2) inch max load line in the cargo compartments observed?

  • Was all COMAIL or COMAT checked as free of Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and was the proper weight recorded?

  • Were wheelchairs loaded last?

  • Were all cargo nets secured?

DEPARTURE

  • Were all panels/doors closed, checked and verified during the pre departure check?

  • Was a pre departure FOD walk conducted?

  • Did the business partner personnel wait until all GSE was clear prior to removing main gear chocks?

  • Were all cones removed and stowed in a professional manner?

  • Was a guide person used to guide and properly park the boarding bridge (PLB) in its stow box?

  • Did the business partner personnel wait until the boarding bridge (PLB) was in its stow box before removing the nose gear chocks?

  • Did the Ramp Lead verify that all equipment was clear of the safety zone, with the exception of the stationary fuel cart?

  • Was a pre departure walk around inspection completed?

PUSHBACK

  • Prior to connecting the tow bar, was the aircraft steering deactivated (bypass pin installed)?

  • Was a physical hands on check of the shear pins conducted?

  • Was a physical hands on check made to ensure that the tow bar was properly attached?

  • Was a guide person used to connect the tow bar to the Push Back tractor?

  • Did the guide person ensure that the tow bar was not adjusted while the Push Back tractor was moving forward?

  • Were the Wing Walkers in the proper position?

  • Were the Wing Walkers and Marshaller using appropriate wands for daytime and/or nighttime operations?

  • Did the Wing Walkers and Marshaller use deliberate, precise, and proper hand signals?

  • Were Wing Walkers monitoring the wing and surrounding areas for hazards as the aircraft moves into the safety zone?

  • Was the push back conducted at walking speed?

  • Did the Wing Walker keep the wands crossed once the aircraft was pushed into to taxiing position?

  • Was the tow bar disconnected in the proper manner?

  • After disconnecting the tow bar, was the bypass pin removed and steering reactivated?

  • Was the bypass pin shown to the pilot?

  • Was the proper salute given after the Push Back tractor and other personnel were clear of the aircraft?
