Coupling or Un Coupling Audit

  • Are you performing a coupling or un-coupling audit?

  • Trailer Number/ Rego being coupled?

  • Is the ground firm and level?

  • Is the Prime mover aligned with the trailer adaquatly?

  • Confirm that the prime mover has been reversed up to the trailer and stopped just before the turntable touches the skid plate and that the park break has been applied

  • Has the driver checked the height of the skid plate and king pin?

  • Has the trailer height been checked to allow it to connect to the prime mover ?

  • Confirm that the prime mover has been safely reversed under the trailer and has made a connection with the king pin.

  • Confirm the driver has visually checked the king pin is locked in the turntable jaw

  • Confirm the driver has checked the lock Release Handle

  • Confirm a tug test

  • Have the air and electrical hoses been connected successfully?

  • Confirm landing legs have been wound up and a visual inspection around the trailer has been made.

  • Confirm the driver has inspected trailer lights.

  • Has the driver completed a trailer Break check?

  • Driver can now move off slowly checking mirrors. Anything further to add other than completed?

  • Confirm the driver has disconnected the air and electrial leads

  • Confirm the driver has lowered the landing legs until the weight is just lifting off the prime mover?

  • Confirm the driver has relased the turn table locking arm

  • Confirm the driver has locked the handle into the open position

  • Confirm the driver has pulled the prime mover forward and stopped before the front of the skid plate leaves the turntable. (Drop the air bags if fitted)

  • Are you satisfied that all is safe to remove the prime mover slowly away from under the trailer.

  • Has the uncoupling been completed successfully and without incident?

  • Un - Coupling Audit

  • Trailer number/ rego being un - coupled

  • Confirm the driver has disconnected the air and electrial leads

  • Confirm the driver has lowered the landing legs until the weight is just lifting off the prime mover?
