Daily Indoor Checklist

Maintenance

  • Are there any maintenance issues that need addressing? (Please add pictures of the issues when raising a maintenance task)

Electrical

  • Are there any exposed wires? - Check the area for any wires that children could potentially reach.

  • Has all electrical equipment been PAT tested? All PAT tested equipment should have a green sticky label which is usually located on the plug. Note only items that are older than 12 months are required to be PAT tested.

  • Do any electrical items that have been purchased within the last 12 months have a label with the date of purchase stuck to the plug?

  • Are all lights working? - Check all light bulbs are working

Sleeping

  • Has the sleep area been checked for unwanted objects? Is the area clear and tidy and ready for putting children to sleep?

  • Are all sleep pods clean and clean of all dirt - Sand and dirt will collect in the pods so it is important that all pods are vacuumed at the end of each day

Heating

  • Are radiators at a suitable temperature. Always checking bathroom radiators.

  • If radiator covers are in place, are these securely attached to the wall?

  • Please make a note of the internal room temperature - This can be done by reading the "Actual" temperature on the hive thermostat (All readings to be giving in degrees celsius)

Food Safety

  • Has all food and drink been stored in it's correct environment?

  • Please make a note of the internal temperature of any fridges within the room. (All readings to be giving in degrees celsius)

  • Have the floors been cleaned of any spillages?

  • Are all staff aware of hand washing procedures prior to handling food?

  • Have all children's allergens been noted. Placemats and laminated information in the kitchen for reference?

  • Have all food items been checked to ensure absence of nuts

Waste Disposal

  • Are all nappy disposed of in the appropriate bins outside?

  • Are all staff aware of waste disposal procedures?

  • Are there black bags in all bins?

First Aid

  • Do we have the correct stock of First Aid Items. Ensure Julie is checking and signing off the contents

Fire

  • Are CO alarms working?

  • Is the fire alarm in working order? Sounders to be checked once a week between fire Marshalls - Check the fire panel to ensure no fault warning or error message are visible

  • Locate your nearest fire extinguisher - Visually check the canister, are there any signs of leakage?

  • Does the fire extinguisher dial indicate the extinguisher is full?

  • Are all staff aware of fire safety procedures

  • Are the locks fully operation on all patio doors. Do all thumb turn locks open and close without obstruction?

  • Are all fire exits clear and free from obstructions? Also ensure all fire evacuation routes are clear from obstacles

  • Check fire Evacuation bag, ensuring mobile phone is fully charged. Fire Evacuation bag to now hang in Charlie, attached to the inside of the front door

  • Red fire box to be clear of any obstructions

MISC

  • Are all cleaning products stored securely and away from children?

  • Are all objects and toys which could be swallowed or deemed as a choking hazard stored away safely?

  • Is there enough PPE?

  • Has the hand soap been topped up in bathroom? Ensure staff bathrooms are also checked.

  • Have all sheets, linen and hand towels been washed?

  • Have all toilets been flushed since the cleaners have bleached them? Ensure the closest staff toilet have also been bleached (by the cleaners) and subsequently been flushed
