Vehicle Checks
Check for 'Not to be Moved' boards. A 'Not to be Moved' board may signify that somebody is working on the vehicle

If any are fitted to the vehicle, do not continue until the reason for the board's presence has been established and permission has been granted to remove it.

Double chock the vehicle
From Vehicle Exterior - All isolators should be in the 'Off' position

Check there are no messages on the Duty Site Manager noticeboard or in the daily log IMS F417 (both kept in the Maintenance Shed) which could affect inspection or operation
Turn on the 24V isolator, disconnect the 24V charger and secure lid and the turn on the Powerpack isolators

Enter the vehicle by inserting the key in any door lock and turn clockwise until the saloon lights come on
From Vehicle Exterior - All isolators should be in the 'Off' position

Check vehicle interior is clean, damage free and all signage is legible

Remove wheel chocks and bring up the LV and HV on the Driver Display Screen with vehciles moving slowly (around 3mph)

Derailer

Unlock the derailer and proceed to drive the track slowly, looking for obstacles, faults, vegetation, or any other items which cause concern or could cause concern in the future.
