Per Service checks.

  • Ensure you have power to the machine you are working on.
    Turn on Dataflex and check that the machine starts correctly.
    Rectify and faults and ensure the machine is operational.
    Mark or document position of printer prior to commencing so it can be returned to the same location.

  • List faults and corrective action.

General

  • Line name and machine number.

  • Serial Number

  • Firmware version.

Pinter

  • Remove Cassette.

  • Use air gun to clean any residue from inside the printer.

  • Use site supplied cleaning foam to clean printer inside and out.

  • Use isopropyl alcohol to clean sensors inside printer.

  • Use isopropyl alcohol to clean print head.

  • Inspect timing belt for signs of wear.

  • Ensure the print head assembly moves freely along the slide carriage.

  • Check print head ribbon cable for damage.

  • Clean and check the print head micro switch.

  • Replace the white peel roller. Ensure the main support shaft is cleaned.

Cassette.

  • Take note of the ribbon set up then remove from cassette.

  • Remove both ribbon rollers.

  • Remove both mandrels.

  • Clean the cassette.

  • Check the cassette latch.

  • Replace both white ribbon rollers.

  • Replace both mandrels, ensure that they move freely once fitted.

Archive and Calibration

  • Remove the side plate from the printer so you can ensure the mandrels correctly engage prior to motor calibration.

  • Install the cassette without any ribbon and ensure mandrels engage correctly.

  • Set up and connect laptop to printer using network cable.

  • Power up printer, when restarted you will have a ribbon break fault. Ignore this fault.

  • Record IP address.

  • Record subnet mask.

  • Set up laptop with the correct IP address to connect to printer. Start ClarityConfig and confirm connection.

  • Upload parameters from coder and create archive.

  • Record name of archive ( eg PC Line Machine 22 15Mar13)

  • Create back up of all jobs.

  • Perform motor calibration (This will take approximately 5 minutes)

  • Remove cassette and refit ribbon. Install cassette and ensure printer starts correctly.

  • Perform touchscreen calibration and test.

Universal Bracket.

  • Clean rubber roller and check for signs of wear.

  • Check rubber o-ring on encoder for signs of wear.

  • Check tension of encoder against.
