Walkways

  • Check all walkways, routes and general floor areas within the pool and spa area(s) are free from damage or defect and any slip, trip or fall hazards have been highlighted, actioned and reported.

Environment

  • Check the lighting, heating and ventilation is functioning and adequate.

Exits

  • Check all exit routes and means of escape are free from combustible materials. Fire exit doors should be checked for correct operation.

Fire Safety

  • Check fire extinguishers are in their allocated places (not freestanding on floor) and are ready for use. Internal fire doors are closed.

Safety Signage

  • Check all safety signage is in place, in good condition and is legible. Check safety signage above fire exits, break glass call points, emergency directional and signage above fire extinguishers.

Communication

  • Check any club radios and emergency phones within your area are fully functional.

Emergency Alarms

  • Test each emergency assistance alarm on site to ensure they are fully functional.

Fire Alarm Panel

  • Check the clubs fire alarm panel to make sure the system is live and there are no faults showing.

Locker Rooms and Showers

  • Check that the locker rooms and shower areas are in good condition with no excess water build up and shower cubicles and glass components are free from damage.

Restricted Access

  • Check that access to all high risk areas is restricted to those who have permission to access.

External Access & Egress

  • Check external doors are closed and secure.

CCTV

  • Check the main CCTV system is operational and recording.

Poolside Access

  • All poolside access restrictions are in place and functioning. (Doors and gates open inwards bracket against the direction of travel to the pool), have Working self-closers present, have a high handled functionality and fully latch when closed from any distance.

Lifts

  • The landing doors cannot be opened when the platform is not at the same level and the platform cannot travel without the doors closed and locked.

Play Areas

  • Check play areas and play frames to ensure that they are in good condition, sound repair and are clean. Supervision and safety signage is present.

First Aid

  • Check the first aid box/es in general areas has all the required items as per standard guidelines and replenish as necessary, including suitable PPE ensuring items are in date or the tag seal is in place.

AED

  • Check AED is in its allocated space and the green light is showing, indicating rescue ready.
