Common Areas / Entries

  • Check all areas / entrances are free from slip / trip hazards.

  • Check all auto doors are operating correctly & presentable.

  • Check all egress points are not obstructed.<br>Eg Shopping Trolleys; Rubbish etc... etc...

  • Internal walls are free from protruding fittings; sharp edges etc... etc...

  • Check all general lighting / directional signage is operational & safe.

  • Check all emergency lighting is operational.

  • Check that no item below the height of the balustrade is not closer that 0.9 metres (900mm).

  • Check that fire corridors; fire exits & fire stairwells are clear & free from obstruction.

  • Check for any damage to all fire doors.

  • Check all fire extinguishers are in place; unused; maintenance records up-to-date.

  • Check that all fire hose reels are wound; secured; unobstructed & maintenance records up-to-date.

  • Check all fire hydrant caps are secured & not leaking.

  • Check 'Warden' vests & cards are in place.

  • Check roof entry points are free from obstruction & any combustibles stored within the area.

  • Check all centre hoardings are secure & presentable.

  • Check all public and staff toilets for water leaks; damage & general anomalies.

  • Check for water leaks in & around the shopping centre.

  • Check for property damage & graffiti around the centre.

  • Check trees / plants are safe & presentable.

  • Check public / taxi phones are operational; no sign of any damage.

Emergency Control Systems / Panels

  • Check FIP (Fire Indicator Panel) is operational; on-line & no faults.

  • Check FIP 'Isolations' are current & permits are in place.

  • Check EWIS (Emergency Warning Indicating System) is operational; on-line & no faults.

  • Check that Fire Sprinkler Valves are strapped or chained 'Opened'.

  • Check Access Control System is functioning correctly.

  • Check CCTV System is functioning correctly.

  • Check Roof Alarm is functioning correctly.

  • Check 'Duress Buttons' are operational & functioning correctly (via Dialler / Radio System)<br>** Centre Management; Guest Services; Information Desk & Valet Parking **

Loading Dock Areas

  • Check loading dock areas are free from rubbish; slip & trip hazards.

  • Check for graffiti or property damage.

  • Check that no flammable liquids are stored in the loading dock areas.

  • Check all general lighting is operational & at an adequate level.

  • Check that waste is stored correctly; not over flowing.

  • Check for damage to the structure including bollards; dock lifters etc... etc...

  • Check all fire extinguishers are in place; unused; maintenance records up-to-date.

  • Check that all fire hose reels are wound; secured; unobstructed & maintenance records up-to-date.

  • Check all fire hydrant caps are secured & not leaking.

Plant Rooms

  • Check for water leaks.

  • Check for strange odours or burning smells.

  • Check for strange sounds or noises from equipment.

Car Park Facilities

  • Directional signage is in good working order.

  • Check that the car park is clear of accumulated rubbish.

  • Check that all general lighting is operational & at an adequate level.

  • Check that all emergency lighting is operational & at an adequate level.

  • Check that 'Car Park Assist' is operational.

  • Check for graffiti or property damage.

  • Check all fire extinguishers are in place; unused; maintenance records up-to-date.

  • Check that all fire hose reels are wound; secured; unobstructed & maintenance records up-to-date.

  • Check all fire hydrant caps are secured & not leaking.

  • Check for any water leaks.

  • Check trolley bays & trolleys are stored safely; trolley bays are free of damage & rubbish.

  • Check all internal & external fire exit / fire stairwells are free from any obstruction; lighting levels adequate; signage in order.

Travelators & Escalators

  • Check comb plates; ensure there is no damage or missing teeth.

  • Check handrails; no obstruction or visible damage.

  • Check Emergency Stop buttons are operational.

  • Check that the travelator / escalator runs in both directions (up & down).

  • Check the safety lights; safety signage & children safety guard.

  • Check the landing plates are secure.

Goods Lift

  • Check the landing doors on each floor are level to the centre flooring.

  • Check the floor / level indicator buttons are functional & illuminated.

  • Check the 'Emergency Stop' button is functional.

  • Check for any signs of damage; graffiti; vibration or unusual noises.

  • Check key switch is operational (if applicable).

  • Check lift lighting is operational & at an adequate level.

Passenger Lift

  • Check the landing doors on each floor are level to the centre flooring.

  • Check the floor / level indicator buttons are functional & illuminated.

  • Check the 'Emergency Stop' button is functional.

  • Check for any signs of damage; graffiti; vibration or unusual noises.

  • Check key switch is operational (if applicable).

  • Check lift lighting is operational & at an adequate level.

First Aid Kits & DeFib Units

  • Check first aid kits are present & accounted for; stocked accordingly; contents not expired.

  • Check DeFib units are present & accounted for; stock accordingly; contents not expired.

Construction & Re-Development Areas

  • Check doors leading to construction areas are secured & free of obstruction.

  • Check hoarding leading to construction areas are secured & free of obstruction.

  • Check temporary fencing leading to construction areas are secured & free of obstruction.

  • Check safety barriers leading to construction areas are secured & free of obstruction.
