Erecting Pre-nail Framing

  • Is the wall erected at the right place as the pre-nail plan ?

  • check if all framing complies with BC plan. Checking all openings, door sizes & height and window sizes & height as specified in the BC plan.

  • Are all walls connected before the higher level floor board laid ?

  • Is all wall being connected with the right fixing ? Atleast 4-point per connection, 3-nail per point.

  • Check the framing quality, make sure there are no gaps between each framing members (nogs and studs, studs and top plates, joists and top plates).

  • Is the bottom plate aligned with the marking line ?

  • Mark out any uneven area and adjust accordingly !

  • Are all walls erected to square ? Special attention to bathroom, & kitchen

  • Check every stud, make sure it is plumb and squared ? Mark out problem studs and either change stud or plank to flush with wall framing. (Especially checking the kitchen wall, bathroom wall, stair wall and single wall).

  • Is there any stud that is not straight ? protruding out ? (if really please change a stud)

  • Are all ceiling battens installed level ?

  • Marked all bracing wall, and make sure fixing is correct accoding to bracing requirements in plans ?

  • All lintel fixings are as per plan.

  • All truss fixings are as per plan.

  • All Steel beam fixings are as per plan

  • Both top and bottom of mid floor joist are at same level ?

  • Plank & pack uneven area to achieve a flush subtrade before receiving floorboards.

  • Do not frame up pipe bulkhead/shelf if there is a brace wall behind.

  • To maintain 2-meter minimum head room in any area (especially on stairs).

  • Take picture of any violations.

  • Is all lintel level with the trimming stud ?

  • Is there gap > 3mm at all nog joint to stud ?

  • Is there gap > 3mm at stud joint to bottom or top plate ?
