  • Follow lockout/tag out, fall protection, electrical safety and all applicable safety procedures in the following steps. If you have any questions concerning this procedure, ask your supervisor.

    Log all repairs made, problems found and adjustment made to this equipment. Inform your supervisor of any problems associated with this PM. Return the completed PM to your supervisor at end of your shit. All documentation is to be kept on file and a copy sent to the safety office.

  • Remove the air filter for the intake air system to the electrical panel room, clean or replace filter if needed

  • Check the emergency lights in the panel room for proper operation by pressing the test button on the front of emergency safety light. If the lights does not work, check the battery, battery charger and wiring. Repair or replace as needed.

  • Check the exhaust and intake fans for proper orientation

  • Check fan blades for cracks and the fan coupler to the shaft for play. Write a work order so repairs can be made.

  • Check the fan driveshaft, bearing and sheaves for wear. hold on to the fan blades and check the play in the shaft and bearing. Replace the parts that are needed. Check the belt tension by pressing down on the middle of the belt, the belt should move only 1 inh, adjust as needed. Grease all bearing and motor bearing with 3 pumps of grease. Use Lubaplate bearing grease.

  • Check the air conditioner for proper operation. Use an air hose at 30 psi to blow out the fins on the coils and replace the air filter. Check that the water draining from the air conditioner is drained to the outside of electrical panel room.

  • Check all conduit leading into and from the electrical panel room and conduit to the electrical panels, all conduit should be secure. Repair as needed.

  • Check that all starters are labeled on the out side of starter door with the equipment name, size of electrical motor, size of heaters and fuses that are required for the operation of the piece of equipment that the starter controls. Replace label if you can not read. Check that the electrical drawing for the electrical panels are in the room and are readable.

  • Check that the 110-volt panel breakers are labeled. The label must identify each circuit breaker and what it operates. the label should be on the inside of the door.

  • Check that all starters, disconnects and 110-volt panels can be locked out. Repair or replace as needed.
