  • 1 (a) No operations involving the generation of effluent such as dyeing, bleaching and washing shall be carried out within the premises.

  • 1 (b) Management shall ensure that all waste water generated from the industry conform to the "Tolerance Limits for Discharge of Industrial Waste Water into Inland Surface Waters” prior to disposal.

  • 1 (c) An analytical report on the quality of treated waste water discharged from your factory shall be obtained from a recognized laboratory of the CEA and the original report/a certified copy shall be submitted to the Environmental Department of the BOI on a regular basis, at the end of every three (03) month period.

  • 1 (d) Treated waste water shall be used for gardening purposes.

  • 1 (e) The maintenance of the waste water treatment system shall be carried out in order to ensure that the system is in proper working order at all times.

  • 1 (f) Standby pumps/motors shall be kept available on site to enable speedy replacement of defective pumps/motors in the waste water treatment system.

  • 2 Management shall ensure that the noise level at the boundary due to operation of the machinery does not exceed a maximum level of 50 dB(A) from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm and 45 dB(A) from 6.00 pm to 6.00 am

  • 3 (a) All non-hazardous solid wastes (not scheduled in Gazette No 1534/18 dated 01/02/2008 under National Environmental Act) generated shall be collected to a central place and get rid of periodically in an environmentally safe and nuisance free manner through an approved facility/Local Authority. The management shall submit relevant documents as proof for such disposal.<br>

  • 3 (b) No open burning of refuse or other combustibles inclusive plastics shall be carried out within or outside the premises. This is not permitted activity in terms of Gazette Extraordinary No.2034/36 dated 01.09.2017 published under the National Environmental Act.

  • 3 (c) No solid wastes shall be dumped into any water body or at a site where it is likely to enter a water body.

  • 4 Health and safety of workers shall be ensured as stipulated in the Factories Ordinance and its amendments.

  • 5 (i) In consultation with the Fire Brigade; adequate precautions shall be taken to prevent the occurrence of accidental fires.<br>

  • 5 (ii) In consultation with the Fire Brigade; adequate number of fire extinguishers shall be installed at strategic points to extinguish any accidental fires.

  • 6 Management shall ensure that all dust and chemical vapor generating operations are isolated as much as possible from the other working areas. In addition, suitable dust/vapor extraction systems shall be installed and maintained properly to minimize the dust/chemical vapor liberation into the working environment.

  • 7 Management shall ensure that the workers exposed to dust within the working environment are provided with suitable dust masks, head caps and overalls while those exposed to a noise level of over 85dB(A) are provided with suitable ear plugs/muffs. Management shall also ensure that the safety-wear provided is worn by the employees while at work in the factory.

  • 8 Management shall ensure that storage of raw materials and products are carried out in a proper manner such that there would be no obstruction of the lighting and ventilation facilities provided, passageways available for the free movement of the workers and the aesthetic appearance of the premises.

  • 9 Prior approval of the CEA/BOI shall be obtained for any expansion, extension or changes to the operation other than those stated in the application.

  • 10 Any additional conditions stipulated by the Central Environmental Authority and the BOI as and when required for controlling any kind of pollution arising from the operation of this industry shall be strictly adhered to.

  • 11 Cleanliness and good housekeeping practices shall be adopted within the premises and prevent any mosquito breeding sites within the industry.

  • 12 This EPL is issued to carry out only the permitted activities stated therein, it shall not and is not intended to confer the recipient thereof any right to assert ownership to the land where the permitted activities are carried on.
