Fat Truck Pre-op inspection

Operator and Environment

  • Is the operator competent and fit for work?

  • Are weather conditions safe to operate vehicle?

  • Brief passengers (mounting and dismounting, seatbelts, escape hatch, Fire ext. hearing protection)

Vehicle Inspection

  • Complete walk around (damage, obstacles)

  • Check are side grills (filters) for cleanliness

  • Inspect tires (inflation, damage, objects/debris lodges in between tire and vehicle)

  • Inspect windows and mirrors (cleanliness, damage, position)

  • Are mounting ladders present, clean, free of damage?

Engine compartment

  • Inspect Engine air filter

  • Inspect all rubber hoses, Accessory belts, Radiator and hydro. cooling fans)

  • Inspect engine oil level

  • Inspect coolant level

  • Inspect engine hydrostatic oil level

  • Inspect fuel filter

Cab Inspection

  • seats and seat belts (clean, operational)

  • fire extinguisher present, unobstructed and inspection present and punched?

  • Safety gear present and secured (first aid kit, basket)

  • Inspect chassis for water or fluid leaks (ideally on slight decline)

  • Inspect fuel level

  • Is there a copy of the operators manual in the cab?

Start Vehicle

  • Check all guages (operating parameters)

  • adjust mirrors

  • test horn

  • turn on headlights
