Qualification/ Accreditation Requirements
Operatives hold relevant BT/Openreach accreditations? ALL Operatives shall hold accreditations (SA002 + S6 or S7) as per PIA Openreach CPs Accreditations Guidelines (Hold both N28 AND K8 as equivalents is accepted) , if there are new operatives, at least one member of the team shall hold the required accreditations and the new operative shall hold as a minimum the relevant Safety Awareness course (SA002).

Fire Extinguisher available and secured in the cab? Minimum 1 fire extinguisher ABC per team. In general, ABC dry powder extinguishers are recommended as the best fire extinguishers for vans and other small commercial vehicles. A 2kg extinguisher of this type stored securely in the cab is sufficient for most commercial vehicles that are not carrying dangerous goods. Fire extinguisher is required when working in the UG due the risk of fire.

Is a Cable Avoidance Tool and Signal Generator (CAT 4+ and Genny) on site and calibrated? Emphasis in CAT 4+ (CAT 4 does not included feature for depth estimation to help gauge the depth of buried utilities as well as identifying them quickly)

If the dig was already executed by the time of the inspection, pause work and require a scanner of the surrounding areas of the worksite, hole/trench, communicate to F&W Civils Manager.
If CAT4+ & Genny are not available, STOP WORK and communicate the situation to Area Delivery Manager, F&W Civils Manager and Contractor Project Manager/ H&S responsible person in order to reschedule the activity until required equipment can be provided.
