  • General Body Condition - Is the vehicle in good order with seat belt in place and working correctly?

  • Tyres - Check for tread depth, any defects and for correct size and pressures.

  • Hydraulics / Pipes - Are hoses in good condition looking for any signs of leaks? Check condition of pipes i.e. on a concrete pump or compressor for signs of damage, holes, leaks, etc.

  • Windscreen - Do the wipers work, good visibility, any cracks in the glass, glass toughened/fitted with shutters and fall protection rails.

  • Mirrors - Are all mirrors fitted and in good order, with convex mirrors present where required. Can a 1m high object, located 1m from the vehicle be seen all round from the drivers seat?

  • Cameras - Look for signs of damage on the camera, is it blocked by dirt/protection box, does the screen work in the cab giving a suitable picture to the operator.

  • Audible Warning - Is a working reversing alarm fitted? Are lifting alarms fitted?

  • Guard - Guards to be fitted along with warning stickers on any areas where there are exposed moving parts or there is a crush zone risk. Edge protection guard rails to be fitted to backs of excavators 13tonne and above.

  • Visual Warnings - Flashing beacons (amber warning and green seat belt), hazard lights, indicators, headlights, thumbs up and quick hitch signs

  • Statutory Examination Check all relevant test/maintenance records are with the plant.

  • Expiary date of certificate

  • Outriggers - Are they fitted and working/with relevant info for use available.

  • Inspection Results
