  • Back legs & rails securely affixed not bent damaged or modified

  • Braces & Struts' Stable and in good condition

  • Hinges and fixings in place, (not contaminated by rust or damaged/missing)

  • Extending ladders

  • Fly section, Rung locks, Base section Guide brackets in place, (not contaminated by rust or damaged/missing)

  • Locking and restraint fixings present, undamaged, contaminated and in good working order

  • Functionality of step ladder -Is it stable & solid (Inspector, you will need to open the stepladder as if you would be using it to test this)

Overall Assessment

  • Condition of the equipment

  • Further actions required

  • New Tag to be issued to user

  • Minor maintenance required such as cleaning of the ladder

  • Ladder is to be taken out of service
