Enclosure Built Fit for Purpose

  • All enclosures shall have generous dimensions to accomodate all electrical and control equipment without overcrowding and to minimize excessive heat buildup within the enclosure. Marshalling boxes shall have 20% spare space and terminals.

Outdoor IP66

  • Minimum Rating. Constructed from Gr316 Stainless Steel

22.5 deg Roof Pitch

  • The roof shall overhang the front of the enclosure by at least 50mm.

Indoor IP54

  • Enclosure shall be painted mild steel, naturally ventilated only.

Bottom Entry Gland Plate

  • All enclosures shall be fitted with removable 6mm thick brass bottom rntry gland plates, suitable for removable of the entire gland plate with cables still attached. Gland plates shall have a minimum 20% spare capacity. Gland plates shall be bolted to the enclosure and fitted with a suitable gasket to maintain the IP rating. It shall be solidly bonded to the enclosure earth bar via a suitable flexible braided earth conductor and purpose stud mounted on the gland plate.

Floor Mounted Enclosures

  • Floor mounted enclosures shall be fitted with 100mm hot dip galvanised plinth.

Doors

  • Double return edges and be able to open to an angle of 135°. T-type handles shall be provided, except where low voltage equipment is located within the enclosure and the door locks then requiring a special tool to open. A double return shall be provided on the body of the enclosure.

Door Stay

  • To ensure that the doors open to the required angle and retain thin the open position.

Document Pocket

  • All panels shall have a document pocket inside the door. Document holders shall be welded channel suitable to accept A4 documents.

Door Stiffening

  • Doors shall be suitably stiffened to prevent distortion. In any case no door shall be more than 850mm wide.

Hinges x 2

  • Enclosures with doors <900mm high shall incorporate a minimum of two hinges. Hinges shall be chrome plated with stainless steel pins, and one pin longer than the others.

Hinges x 3

  • Enclosures with doors >900mm shall have a minimum of three hinges and shall be suitably stiffened.

8mm Sq Locks

  • Individual 8mm square key door locks shall be fitted to all field mounted electrical enclosures and escutcheons. Three point door locking mechanisms are not acceptable.

Centre Mullion

  • Enclosures with clear openings larger than 800mm shall have doors that close on a centre mullion.

HD Neoprene Gasket Seal

  • Seals shall be glued and held in place by continuous retaining strips.

Finish

  • All DBs shall be painted orange, paint code X15 (in accordance with AS2700) with a white escutcheon plate. Refer GROS-TSTD-MS-003.

Gear Tray

  • All internally mounted equipment such as relays, remote I/O etc. Shall be mounted on the equipment gear plate only. Side mounting of equipment is not acceptable.

Circuit Breaker Chassis

  • Circuit Breaker chassis poles shall be colored according to the phase to which they are connected. Red, white and blue shall be used for the phase colors and black for neutral.

Circuit Breakers

  • Lockouts shall be of metal construction and integrally fitted to the circuit breaker and main switch. Removal of the escutcheon shall not prevent the circuit breaker from bring locked in the OFF position. 240 Vac lighting circuits protected by 2pole ELCBs rated at 30 mA, 240 Vac power circuits protected by 2 pole ELCBs, 3 phase power circuits protected by 4 pole ELCBs, Power circuit ELCBs rated at 30 mA, Welding circuits proyected ny a 4 pole ELCB rated at100 mA. All MCBs shall have a minimum fault current rating of 10kA.

RCD Test Outlet

  • DIN Rail mounted round earth pin Clipsal 4PSO10DL or equivalent.

Lighting Control

  • Lighting control circuits shall have sufficient space for all the lighting control circuit equipment, including contactors, manual over-ride switches, relays, timers and terminals for external and control cabling. Where photo-electric cells are required an escutcheon mounted on-off-auto control switch shall be provided. Labeled terminals shall be provided within the distribution boards for connection of external photo-electric cells by others. All control circuits within the board shall be protected by ELCB.

Segregation

  • Terminal strips and ducting segregated by voltage: 240Vac power wiring (shroud and warning label), 4-20 mA analogue signals (IS signals in separate enclosure on field), 24 Vdc digital signals (IS signals in separate enclosure in field), Instrument or control systems communications. All voltages above extra low voltage shall be suitably shrouded with a minimum IP2XB.

Intrinsically Safe

  • Intrinsically safe circuits and hazardous area enclosures shall be designed and installed in accordance with requirements of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 60079.

Terminals

  • 35mm DIN rail mounted screw type terminals. Minimum terminal size 2.5 mm2 wiring, power terminals sized for application. Terminate all cores with 20% spare. Standard stoppers, dividers, barriers tier labels and bridging links to IP2XB

Internal Wiring

  • Terminals mounted vertically, split PVC ducts on either side. There shall ne adequate clearance to read wire numbers in full and readily insert and extract wires. (Min 50mm). Use labelled shrouds on all above ELV.

Labels
