Guest Rooms (E9)

  • Armoire/Chifferobe <br>- Door should open and close freely. <br>- Door panels, frames, thresholds and jams must be clean, free of loose hardware, should be stained or painted, free of dents, scuffs and scratches. <br>- Shelves should be clean and in good condition. <br>- Lower the clothes bar to 48” in ADA guestrooms. <br>- Closet rod should be sturdy, with a minimum of 3 male and 3 female hangers. <br>- Safe should be clean and in good working condition. <br>- Iron should have an auto-shut off feature and be neatly stored, clean and free of residue.

  • Artwork, Windows, Glass, Mirrors, & Window Coverings <br>- Frame should be in good condition free of defects. <br>- Should be level and free from cracks, scratches and flaking. <br>- Should be clean, clear, spot and streak free. <br>- Solid glass windows and doors should have a decal to prevent guests from walking into them.

  • Bed Top/ Linens & Pillows <br>- All bedding should be clean and in good condition free of stains, holes, fraying and tears. <br>- Beds should be properly made, pulled tight, tucked and folded. <br>- Mattresses should be sturdy with no lumps or body impressions, clean and free of cuts and tears. <br>- ADA rooms should have 6” heavy duty bed frames with total height no more than 23” above the floor. <br>- Pillows should be clean and in good condition. <br>- Beds should be centered on boxes and frames.

  • Bible/Phone Book Available <br>- Is present, clean, and good repair. <br>- No tears or stains.

  • Cabinets and Counters <br>- This includes tables, cabinets, desks, dressers, armoires, headboards and portable bars. <br>- Should be clean and in good condition, free of chips, dents and scratches. <br>- Drawers and shelves should be clean and working properly. <br>- ADA guestroom desks must have a minimum of 27” chair clearance space. <br>- Desks should be neatly arranged and include a lamp.

  • Case Goods <br>- This includes tables, cabinets, desks, dressers, armoires, headboards and portable bars. <br>- Should be clean and in good condition, free of chips, dents and scratches. <br>- Drawers and shelves should be clean and working properly. <br>- ADA guestroom desks must have a minimum of 27” chair clearance space. <br>- Desks should be neatly arranged and include a lamp.

  • Clock/Radio <br>- Should be clean in good condition and set to the proper time. <br>- Time should be set within 5 minutes of your Bluetooth devise. <br>- Radio and alarm timer should work and be back illuminated when dark.

  • Ceilings <br>- Should be painted and free of stains, mold and mildew. <br>- Drop ceiling grate and tiles should be clean and free from rust and stains. <br>- Dust and /or spider webs should not be present. <br>- Ceilings should be clean, appropriately finished, and free of cracks, holes and stains. <br>- All ceiling tile must be in place and florescent light lenses should be clean and free of stains and cracks.

  • Curtains/Drapes/Blinds <br>- Should be clean, working properly, free from tears, holes, fraying or fade.

  • Doors & Frames <br>- Door panels, frames, thresholds and jams must be clean, free of dents, scratches and loose hardware. <br>- Glass should be clean and free of scratches and cracks. <br>- Should be tightly self-closing and take a minimum amount of force to open. <br>- Should be stained or painted, free of dents and scratches.

  • Floors - Tile/Carpet/Vinyl/Concrete/Hardwood <br>- All floor surfaces must be clean and stain free. <br>- Carpets should be in good repair with no cuts, burn marks, gaps in seams, wrinkles or duct tape. <br>- Concrete and poured floors should be clean, stain free, with no major cracks. <br>- Gum should be removed from floors daily. <br>- Hardwood should be clean, polished and scuff free. <br>- Tile floors should be grouted, free of cracks and slip resistant. <br>- Vinyl flooring should be clean, polished and slip resistant.

  • Ice Bucket and Tray <br>- Should be clean and provided with a bag liner.

  • Irons & Boards <br>- Iron should have an auto-shut off feature and be neatly stored, clean and free of residue.

  • Laptop Hookup/ Charging Station <br>- Works, is clean, and good repair.

  • Lighting <br>- All light bulbs and tubes should be in-place and working and provide an appropriate level of lighting. <br>- All lighting fixtures, housing, covers and switches should be clean, free of cracks, chips and otherwise in good repair.<br>- Shades should be clean and free of stains, other damage and be level. <br>- All poles should be plumb and in good repair."

  • Literature in Good Condition <br>- All literature should be clean and in good repair without creases.

  • Odor <br>- Ambient scent should be subtle and not too strong. <br>- In smoking areas, the odor of smoke should not be overwhelming.

  • Phone <br>- Should be clean, in good condition and have a dial tone. <br>- All presets should be programmed.

  • Refrigerator <br>- Should be clean and in good working condition. <br>- Retractable cords should retract properly as designed.

  • Safe <br>- Should be clean and in good working condition.

  • Smoke Detectors <br>- Should be provided and have a light indicating they are operational.

  • Sprinkler Systems <br>- There must be an 18” clearance between all sprinkler heads and all stored items.

  • Tables/Chairs <br>- Wood and metal bases and frames should be in good condition and free from scratches and scuffs. <br>- Fabric should be free of burns, tears, cracks and stains. <br>- Should be level and not wobble. <br>- Tops and edges should be clean and in good condition, free of wear, chips, cracks and scratches. <br>- Table tops should not be cracked, chips and base should not wobble.

  • TV/Remote <br>- TV and remote control should be clean, working and in good condition. <br>- Remote TV’s in ADA guestrooms must be equipped with closed caption

  • Valet Bag/Tag <br>- Present, clean

  • Vents/HVAC <br>- Vents should be clean, dust and rust free. <br>- Thermostat should be easily adjustable and maintain a comfortable temperature. <br>- All HVAC unit panels should be in place and securely closed. <br>- All supply and return vents should be clean and in good repair.

  • Walls/Pillars/Railings <br>- Should be clean, free from marks, cracks, holes, stains, stickers or graffiti and appropriately finished. <br>- Brass should be polished. <br>- Wallpaper should be clean and free from cuts, stains, rips and tears. <br>- Railings must be solidly affixed painted or stained and free of scratches. <br>- Temporary signs and postings should be professional in appearance, not be hand written and should not be mounted using visible tape.

  • Wastebaskets <br>- Should be clean and in good condition. <br>- Should be emptied daily.

  • Wet Bar (if applicable)<br>- Should be clean, in good condition and free of chips and cracks.<br>- Sink hardware should be working properly, polished and drain plug should not leak.

  • Artwork, Windows, Glass, Mirrors, & Window Coverings <br>- Frame should be in good condition free of defects. <br>- Should be level and free from cracks, scratches and flaking. <br>- Should be clean, clear, spot and streak free. <br>- Solid glass windows and doors should have a decal to prevent guests from walking into them.

  • Bath Tubs <br>- A non-slip floor mat should be provided for each tub. <br>- Caulking should be free from gaps, cracks and discoloration. <br>- Grab bars should be secure and clean. <br>- Maximum pool spa tub temperature 102º Fahrenheit. <br>- Hardware should be working properly, polished and drain plug should not leak. <br>- Should be clean and in good condition, free of cracks.

  • Housekeeping Cart -Sharps Disposal Procedure <br>- Container should be provided on the room attendant carts, if housekeeping team members are trained to handle. <br>- Option - have a supervisor protocol to remove the sharps, in this case the container should be taken to the sharps. <br>- Containers must be provided in each public front and back of house restroom.
