1. Entrance Door

  • 1.1 Check door handles and locks to be sure they are working properly.

  • 1.2 Check to see that room numbers are intact.

  • 1.3 Door should be free of smudges and scratches.

  • 1.4 The fire escape plan should be posted on back of door.

  • 1.5 Make sure that the “ Do Not Disturb” card is on the inside door knob.

2. Drapes

  • 2.1 Drapes are closed , all hooks in place.

  • 2.2 Check drapes for smooth pulling action.

  • 2.3 Drapes should be dust and damage free inside and out.

3. Beds

  • 3.1 Beds should be uniformly made so that spreads are even in appearance,pillows are the same size.

  • 3.2 Check under beds for trash or guest articles.

  • 3.3 Lift the spread to make sure the bed has been made properly.

  • 3.4 Beds and headboards should be aligned.

4. Furniture

  • 4.1 Check all furniture that it is scratch free, not wobbly, doors aligned, handles and hinges tight.

  • 4.2 Lamp shades should be straight, with the seams facing the wall.

  • 4.3 Turn on the television to make sure it is working properly; check for cleanliness.

  • 4.4 Check to see that all furniture is straightened.

  • 4.5 Check the telephone for cleanliness and functionality.

  • 4.6 Make sure that all furniture is free of dust and dirt.

Items 5-8

5. Lighting

  • 5.1 Lamps and lamp shades should be free of dust.

  • 5.2 Turn on all the lights to make sure they are operating.

  • 5.3 Check for proper wattage of light bulbs.

6. Bathroom

  • 6.1 Floor, walls, ceiling and all fixtures should be free of mildew, dirt, hair, grit.

  • 6.2 Turn on the exhaust fan to be sure it is working properly.

  • 6.3 Check behind door for clothes hook.

  • 6.4 All chrome should be shiny.

  • 6.5 Check that there are no unpleasant odours.

  • 6.6 Check to be sure shower curtain clips are in place, the curtain is open 6” from each wall, and the rod cover seam turned toward the wall. (Main Building only)

  • 6.7 There should be two rolls of toilet paper on holders.

  • 6.8 Flush toilet to check for cleanliness and leaks.

7. Vanity Area

  • 7.1 Sink, counter and mirror should be free of mildew, hair, soap and residue.

  • 7.2 Chrome should be shiny.

  • 7.3 A clean ice bucket and four wrapped cups should be in the other corner of the vanity, optional liner on the top of the bucket.

  • 7.4 Check to see that there is a proper number of towels neatly folded on the towel rack.

  • 7.5 There should be two (2) bars of soap (1 at shower room, 1 at wash sink).

  • 7.6 Clothes rack should be dust-free, with eight (8) hangers (4 Male, 4 Female).

8. Supplies

  • 8.1 Two (2) waste baskets should be cleaned and in proper place.

  • 8.2 Check telephone books for soil and damage (be sure they are in their proper location).

  • 8.3 There should be two (2) ashtrays (for smoking rooms only).

  • 8.4 Check the condition and placement of these items: Comment card, current Hotel Directory, Gideon Bible, Non-smoking tent cards (where applicable), stationary.

Items 9-12

9. Floors, Walls, Ceilings

  • 9.1 The carpet should be vacuumed thoroughly.

  • 9.2 Ceiling, walls should be free of dirt, damages, cobwebs etc.

  • 9.3 Check baseboards for cleanliness.

  • 9.4 Check all corners, under beds, behind doors and around furniture for trash and dirt.

10. Air Conditioning Units

  • 10.1 Check for air cooling.

11. Mini- Bar Area

  • 11.1 Check refrigerator for functionality.

  • 11.2 Mini-Bar shelves , counter and ref top should be dust free.

  • 11.3 Check mini-bar items for completeness and expiration.

  • 11.4 Check that the following items are on set-up: ice bucket and water kettle, two (2) tumblers, two (2) sets of cup and saucer with teaspoon and coffee set in a tray.

12. Critical Room Items (Should be checked daily if working)

  • 12.1 Door hardware

  • 12.2 Air Conditioning
