    Compliant – No shortfalls identified, criteria met or standards required achieved
    Partially Compliant – Minor shortfalls identified in the standard or requirement, minor opportunities for improvement identified and the standard is still to an acceptable level. (For Example -PAT Testing – Most items tested and in date however a few units have been missed)
    Non-Compliant – The standard or requirement has not been achieved and deemed to be unacceptable. Immediate action is required to address the shortfall/s (Example – PAT Testing – Most items out of date and not tested)

  • Fire – Alarm call points and firefighting equipment is present and in good order. Check inspection label on firefighting equipment.

  • Communication - Emergency communication equipment is available and working correctly. This includes site emergency phones / Radios Test via conversation that site personnel understand how to raise the alarm and the emergency number to use. Do they have radios in possession and switched on?

  • First aid – First aid / enhanced first aid kits and bags are sealed, present in the work area and contents populated and in date? Ensure the Defib units on-site are in good order and located in the immediate work area?

  • Spill kits – Available and in good condition

  • Emergency showers and Eyewash Stations– Check condition and ensure these are in good order.

  • Information – Check emergency signs are in good order and correct for the situation. No damage or fading should be present. Emergency procedures/contact details are correct and up to date.

  • Muster Point established and signage in place? Verbally confirm working party are aware of where the muster point is.

  • Electrical safety – Rescue hooks are in place in key areas (substations) to allow safe separation from electrical supply? Electrical Safety Poster also mounted in the vicinity.

  • Rescue Plans - Rescue plans available and equipment required readily available?
